Do you think it's a ghost? Ok so this is kind of a creepy question but...Do you think our babies can see spirits/ghosts or some kind of presence? The reason I ask is because sometimes I notice dogs just bark at thin air, sometimes for no reason. I've heard that animals have a sixth sense. What do you guys think? I know it's a creepy thought but I really think Coco can see or feel some kind of presence. She NEVER really barks, and occasionally out of nowhere, with no other noise in the background, she'll just turn around look, upwards and bark and growl. There's nothing there, there's no other noise and no one else other than me and her sometimes. Give me your thoughts. |
i also think they do there was this one time when i was a kid i lived with my parents in california. their friend brought over a little chihuahua and the chihuahua stayed by the front door barking into the dining room the entire time it was there my mom is a firm believer in ghosts and whatever. well later on after the dog left, a few weeks later, my mom had her friend over and supposedly her friend could tell fortunes and stuff. she sensed a presence in the house and was breathtaken the whole time. we had to give her water and she had to sit upstairs |
I totally believe that they can sense things we cannot. Sometimes they bark and grow,l other times they act afraid and will avaoid areas completely. When they act scared.....I get nervous :p |
Yes, definitely. I don't want to go into details because I am home alone & will scare myselff! |
I dont know But I do know they have great hearing and maybe they are hearing a siren or some thing that your not hearing. |
do you think I am not sure I believe in Ghost per se but I do believe dogs have a "sense of danger" when danger is near. Several years ago I had a chi. One night I was home alone and suddenly she ran ibnto the bedroom toward the window and started barking just like a watch dog. I felt something evil, if you will, that sent shivers up my spine. I had never heard her bark like that and she wasn't scared. She was protecting and attacking. That feeling scared me half to death. sometimes at night here, my dogs bark during the night for no reason and it kind of makes me think someone is around our home or driveway. |
OMG, I totally believe they can sense things like that. Even earthquakes, they can sense before hand. Now I will stop talking about this. Like Kristy, I will scare the crap out myself! |
I know it's creepy..lol...but Coco had my all freaked out last night. She was barking most of the night...it was completely silent and she was looking around and barking...and growling..YIKES..I NEED GHOSTBUSTERS |
ABSOPOSILUTLEY!!!!! I Believe all animals can sense "energies" far more than humans, and I believe cats are more perceptive than dogs!!!!!!!!!!! The house I live in has a very "active" past (it was built in 1942 and has had 4 previous owners), my next door neighbor is very old and is the brother of the first owner, and has enlightened me to it's strange past. Very weird things have happened here: death, suicide, gambling/brothel house.....the list goes on........ANYWAY, I have several cats and they are forever doing that look into nowhere, back up, hissing thing........freaks me out............... Did not mean to scare anyone.........just true that's all |
:shocked7q great, now I wont be able to sleep tonight! CoCo the ghostbuster! |
Who You Gonna Calll....ghostbuster Yorkie!!! (ghostbusters Tune) |
Well let me tell u this. I NEVER believed in ghosts spirits and things like that until I moved to my new apartment. Since we lived here Coco plays with air I mean she gets on her hind legs and just starts jumping in the middle of the floor. She also barks at nothing especially in the bathroom. She will stand right in front of the bathroom and just bark. It scared the crap outta me because I would go in there and nothing would be in there. She would also just growl at certain spots in my house but the bathroom seemed to be THE place she would play growl and bark. So one day the maintenance man came to my apartment to fix the lock on my door and he starts telling me how the previous tenant who was an old lady died in my apartment in the BATHROOM!!! All I have to say is that I almost wet my pants right there on the spot! I was terrified for weeks after that and I said to myself if its this old lady then she can live here with me if she wants and play with coco all she wants just as long as her and I NEVER cross paths. LOL........So far so good Coco still plays in the bathroom and I don't know whats going on. |
RACHEL AND I HAVE DECIDED TO JUST WET OUT PANTS AND NEVER USE THE RESTROOM AGAIN!!!!     |
Holy crap! I cant read anymore of these!!! I will have Bella inspect every bathroom in the house now! Just place her in there and see what she does! |

Defenatly! My cousin Donna has a dog Bailey, and her old dog Toby died of old age a few years ago. Bailey only met Toby a few times but there's one room where a picture of Toby and a poem and drawing of her on the wall is and if she takes Bailey in that room he starts to bark and just stare at nothing. Donna is a firm believer that he sees Toby. And other times Tucker just stands there and barks at nothing, maybe its Bandit or my grandma or something, but i defenatly think they can see and sense things we can't. |
I can't remember who it was but someone posted a thread about thier yorkie too scared to go up their stairs. I shared a story of Gus being scared of going up my fathers stair in his apartment complex. I really dont believe in this kind of stuff, BUT I had seen shadows 2 time while visiting there. And my step mother had alway said that there are spirts there. I think there is an explation for everything,,, but I did get freaked out when I seen it with my own eyes. And even after that I didn't believe it. But I can sure tell you that Gus will not venture out and sticks like glue to me when ever we are there. But when leaving or going,,,,, he will not step foot on the stairs. There is something about those stairs he does not like or is scared of. |
Great thread for a spooky October evening...da da dummmm. Light often stares at a spot just above my head and to the left when I'm sitting in the living room. She will actually get up off her bed and come sit a few feet away from me and STARE, ears up and tense. I just turn and chat with whoever's not there. I will probably end my days in a padded room LOL. |
Happy Halloween! Ghosts!UMMMM???? Its certainly possible especially around the haunting season!!!!! |

I'm sorry to scare you ladies but that is the honest truth what happened. I never believed in anything like this and I'm not sure after that, that I still do but something isn't right and it scared the crap outta me. But like I said as long as she stays away from me then we are cool. |

It's either the padded room, which I'm sorta looking forward to, OR I'll just be that scary old lady down the street with all the dogs... ooops too late, already there. |

now now now, you aren't the scary old lady down the street, you are NOT old!!! :D |
Well ladies, I wasn't going to tell my story here at all but now I guess I will. I know most of you have seen that I lost my Ginger yorkie age 15 this summer. Our only child Sarah, she was 20, was murdered June 2003. Her boyfriend shot her in the back. To get on with it, my Ginger and Sarah were very close. Not only did she go to the window when it was time for her to come home from work, she did this for months. However there have been many times I KNOW Ginger was greeting Sarah. She would wag her tail, go to 'their' favorite place, at night growl at nothing then wag her tail, looking up. I kid you not. Her health went down after her death. now they are together. |
I could write a mini-book on this one! A little over a year ago, I was in to the paranormal. I bought a "haunted" antique mirror off of eBay...yeah, right, you're thinking. As soon as I opened the box, I got a sick feeling in my gut and felt like something was watching me. I left it on my dresser and we went to file our taxes. We get back and that same feeling was there. I tried to ignore it and sat at the kitchen table to pay bills. All of a sudden, there was a loud screech, pop sound and I look up and the chandelere (?) was swinging my way and was held up by a wire. The chain that held it was broken. Mind you, if it wasn't for the wire, I would have been sliced up pretty bad. Chester jumped out of my lap and ran, barking and growling to the living room, stops, sits down, and is barking up at the ceiling. I take the mirror out to the garage and put it up on the shelf. The next morning when I go to leave for work, the garage door opener is broken. All a coincidence? Sure, but too many things happened all at once. I mailed the package that morning to a friend that is a paranormal investigator and when he received the package, he immediately felt sick...he's a little "sensitive". Anyway, yes, dogs can see and sense things that humans cannot. |
Yes. And cats can. I'm not goint to tell you the whole story, I still get chills. But - my 15 year old Peke came back to "visit" me and the 10 year old siamese buddy she had lived with several times the first month after she died. |
