My husband and I got married March 13, 2000. For our "honey moon", we spent it moving to a country house in Byers, TX. Lovely home, large, spread out. Closest neighbor was 1/2 mile away. Town was so small it had one flashing light in town. You blink and you'd miss it.
ANYWAY, we moved in and all was well. My husband owned an OLD Apple computer and we had dial up. It was in our bedroom which was at the end of the house. Well, one night, I'm at the computer...back is to the door...and I hear someone sit on the bed. Our bed creaked pretty bad...needed new boxsprings. So, I turned around and no one is there. Dismiss it as if I'm just hearing things...and then I hear it again.
I got off the computer SO fast and ran down the hall.
We only lived in this house 6 months...we were renting. There were so many things that happened...shadows, strange "I'M WATCHING YOU" feelings. Now my daughter who was 5 at the time (I still feel guilty) slept in her own room. She use to have nightmares all the time and didn't want to sleep by herself.
It wasn't till a couple of years ago and she brought this up that after my husband and I went to bed, she would see a red-haired man walking from the hall bathroom through her room and to her playroom (connected to her bedroom) and vice versa. This completely took me by surprise since she brought it up. I asked her how many times she saw this man and she said a lot. "That's why I wanted to sleep with you, momma." :(
You would also hear people walking down the hall. It was all so crazy. After I had my son...yes, I was 2 months pregnant pregnant when I got married, well, the weekend I had my son, I never went back to that house...EVER. My in-laws and my husband moved us out.
I should also mention that while we lived in this house, I had gotten depression so bad that my OB/GYN wanted me to see a psychiatrist. After we moved out, the depression was gone.
I wonder who lives in that house now or if it is sitting empty. I know I couldn\'t go back there. |
