				 | A few times I took the dogs to my groomer, they DID have matts. They combed them out and did as much as possible to save their coats. They work a "tag team", and one of them spent 2 hours just combing Bella out so they could save her coat. That was when my husband was dying; unfortunately, I had other things to do besides comb her out. But they understood: she had never come in like that before (or since!). They charged me for the time (only fair!), but they didn't butcher her hair. A good groomer is hard to find ... |

				 | I am so sorry, you and your lil guy had to go through that!!!!!!!!! Been there, when I first got Shay, I researched and looked at a few places...well I finally decided on a place, in Knoxville, supposedly the BEST place to go....well...my lil one, ended up being given something to calm him down.. ... Anyone that knows my Shay, calmed down would be dead! he is so mellow...I brought 2 pictures with me and said NO SHAVING.... I went in to pick him up, and he was lifeless in the kennel (I was waiting outside, cause he was only 1.9Lbs. and told them I was waiting in truck) I wasn't even sure that was my baby, till he looked up at me all dazed...I started asking questions, and demanded answers, I was treated horribly, for daring to question them....thank GOD Shay ended up okay....but not before, I filed complaints everywhere I could think....I now groom him myself, it may not always be perfect! but am getting better at it, and I know he is okay...so that makes up for it....

				 | I have a wonderful grooming place near where I live... whenever I get my boys back they are so happy and waggy and kiss the groomers, they look great, smell great and never really any problems (small case of razor burn around the butt area once) but I really like my groomers. HOWEVER... I sign papers that say that IF they DEEM it necessary they will shave the dog if there are mats. The paper also states that they will attempt to detangle if I prefer but that will incur additional charges depending on the severity of the mats and if they cannot detangle they will shave. Did you sign papers that stated that? I'd be pretty mad if I did not sign something stating that and I got him back shaved when I specifically asked for no cut at all. As frustrating as that is, the hair will grow back quickly and you know to never go there again. However... if they nicked or hurt your baby in any way.... I'd be writing letters too!!!! That is the part i'd be FURIOUS about!!! Post pics... I'm sure your baby is still SUPER adorable!

				 | So sorry to hear this, poor little guy! I found a great groomer in my town, they come to your home and groom. So you are with your dog the until time and she is good. Maybe you could look and see if you have a mobile groomer in your area! Good luck!

				 | Pet smart gets a bad rap, I think it is the individual groomer, I take allie to petsmart with only this one lady and she does exactly what I ask for each time, I really rely on peoples feed back on where to take her and I've always been happy with the results. I was impatient once and took her to pet co and they clipped her so short I hated it! A good groomer is like a good hairdresser, you have to get a few bad cuts before you get a good one!! |
