Differences between Biewer and Parti Yorkies?

Wylie's Mom is trying to compile links for a thread to pin in the Library. The OP's question gets asked a lot and those threads always get long and heated. It would be great to have a sticky we could refer newbies to with just the facts, no editorials.

Misty didn't put any links in her post. Why are you so threatened by people hearing both sides? I'm also getting tired of you accusing me of being a troublemaker every time I post on a Parti thread. Why should these threads only be answered by Parti breeders?

After reading that...could someone please tell me again why they should be linked in a thread concerning the differences between the parti and Biewer?

As you can plainly see..they do not reconize them...so they are NOT the parent club of either. IMO..case closed.

Unless you are saying that Parti Yorkies are not even Yorkshire Terriers, of course the YTCA is the "big kahuna" club.

I think you are misinterpreting the term "recognize" as used by the YTCA. They aren't saying that Parti's don't exist, just that they are not recognized as defined by Merriam-Webster:

First off I agree 110% with kpstoysbox! Secondly the ytca has nothing to do with the biewer breed to begin with and they voted the DQ for color because of the parti yorkie. You want a link to the ytca to discredit the parti yorkie and the breeders of the parti yorkie. Plain and simple akc recongizes the parti yorkie!

Nancy1999 you can preach all you want concerning how wonderful and reputable the ytca is and the members of the ytca. I will listen when you have proof of all the ytca members breeding to the standard and not selling yorkshire terrier who do not meet the standard and have health issues with full breeding rights.

I believe that the YTCA most definitely believs that the parti exists If they didn't admit they existed, then there would be no need to EXCLUDE them.

However, I agree that the YTCA site should not be listed. It has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

And no..Misty didn't put any links. But I did..but only ones that truly should be there. And the concenus was to join the two posts.

You still haven't answered why the YTCA should be linked in a thread concerning two dogs it does not reconize nor parent. This thread was not about the politics of breeding the parti yorkie. But you have been allowed to take it that way...as usual.

The CYTC should deinitely be listed. It is the ORIGINAL Parti yorkshire terrier club. The other one is a spin off started by one of the CYTCs original members.

This is just so confusing. The AKC is a breed registry, not a breed club. They don't "recognize" parti's, they just allow them to be registered as they do other Yorkies who have faults, no matter what those faults are.

It's important to keep in mind that the AKC registers parti's as Yorkshire Terriers. Given that, I can't see how you can argue that parti's are not affiliated with the YTCA.

As long as the YTCA is the official breed club for Yorkies and sets the standard, links to their website regarding parti Yorkies must be included in an educational sticky pinned in the Library.
