This is exactally what I would do. However, your already at the vet's and I wish you all the luck in the world. This dog is not her's. No dog will forget his owner, no matter how long he/she has been gone. Sorry you met up with a nut case but thier out there for sure just waiting to pounce on someone for their own reasons. Will watch for an update. Good luck to you. | |

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I agree a dog is not going to forget it's owner after so short a period of time. When my parents moved 3000 miles away and we didn't follow for a year, their dog came running up to me and my kids the second we walked in. She sure hadn't forgotten us. |

| So I just got back from the vet and it's not her dog! They looked at the scar from his alteration, but in the end it was teeth that proved it wasn't him. She said her dog had just had a teeth cleaning right before he ran away and the vet said that Murphy has not has his teeth cleaned in a long time. They also checked the other dogs medical records and they didn't match anything about Murphy. Can you believe this whack job never even apologized? I am so happy, I love this little guy so much! I didn't take him to her vet because it's like an hour away and I have already given enough of my time to this woman. Thank you to everyone for your support and advice, I look forward to becoming more involved with Yorkietalk.com |

![]() ![]() ![]() Anyways, I would have to add that I agree it's not her dog if he didn't GO CRAZY when he saw her! My dogs GO NUTS, does their jumping dance on my legs when they see me. Even if it was only 5 minutes (when I cook), they act like they haven't seen me in DAYS!! Thus, I'm sure it's not her dog so don't fear! Also, like someone else said, WHO would neuter (which costs a couple hundred $$$) a stray and then put them back out onto the streets??!?! Well, keep us posted!! GOOD LUCK!

| I hope it's not her dog because if it is the dog obviously doesn't like her

| Every mature dog that I have had neutered still had his testicles for a little while afterwards. I wish I could tell you for how long, but would the person who found the dog know if he had them still? They do go away after a while. Maybe you could find something on that? Also, I had a rescue that came from a woman who was having health problems. I was given the papers and invited the breeder over to my house. It had been two years since Pita had seen the breeder, but she knew her, was very happy to see her. It was so, so obvious. Also, another dog I had gotten from the same woman had been placed for over a year when I got her back and she and the dog I kept still knew each other. Libby, the other dog was the happiest, but Pita still knew Libby. It was obvious. A dog would not forget his owner after just a few months. There should have been some recognition. Did you tell the cop that the woman saw the dog and said it wasn't hers? I wouldn't trust her. Did you get the officers name? Can you be positive it was the police department? If you got the officer's name, you might call and verify that she called you. I am sure this woman is desperate to find her dog and showing her desperation, and not handling things tactfully. Considering this, if you are good enough to agree to take the dog to a vet, at her request, she should certainly pay for it.
