| ![]() I would never give my dog alcohol, damn 13% is more than a malt liquor.. Ya ask a homeopathic vet is what I would do. However people have been giving dogs RR for many years without issues. (exceptions of course) |

| ![]() I love my vet~he also is involved in rescue Greyhounds~I'm going to get his input on this as well. We have an excellent relationship and now that I have several very reputable members experiences with both RR and Calm Down plus all of the additional information that I was able to find we can surely have a very informed discussion. We had briefly talked about this at our last visit but I didn't really give it too much thought until this past week after trying all types of positive reinforcement that have not been successful.

Discussing it with your vet is the best thing you can do. The first vet I went to with the Thunderstorm issue prescribed KalmaCalm (sp)......hated the drug hangover my poor dog experienced. We then went with a mild sedative, same thing. Individually, we have to make the best decision, based on discussions with your vet. Keep in mind that what may be good for one dog, may not be good for another....it's all a process of elemination.

| ![]() I don't know everything and never claimed to. What I offer is based on experience and what I've leared from those greats that have come before me and my wonderful vets that work with me.

Both have members that are heavily involved in Medical Research. These clubs have interaction with specialists and of course share with each other various situations they encounter. We are all in constant communication with each other. What is great about this network, if we do have issues with our dogs, we know whose expertise we can tap into.

| ![]() so i guess that is why they call it in humans and dogs practicing medicine as they are practicing on us and dogs. I get it - thanks for always helping us understand |

| ![]() Could be. Medicine is constantly evolving. I was unaware that Leggs Perthes existed in humans also. However, Fox New has a commentator that was born with this congential problem. At the time he placed in painful braces to correct, now it is corrected with surgery....medicine a come a long way; in humans and animals.
