Is it better to have 2?

We have decided to get a 2nd one! Just not sure when it will be. We might wait until mid summer or early fall. We will most likely use the same breeder simply because she did such a great job with Trudy, we can't go wrong! Just when I thought I was done with the puppy training... lol. No I really can't wait!!

Good luck!! you won't regret having two! Be careful though!! It becomes and addiction!! First couple weeks Trudy might not get along with the new puppy, but after that, they will be bff. My little Emma follows Carmel EVERYWHERE. If he's not there, she will whimper

Good decision, and I'll bet you are going to be thrilled when the time comes.

I got my 2nd girl only 3 months after the first and it worked out great (although some don't recommend so close). Then when those 2 turned 1 I got 2 lil sisters. Having 4 is awesome, they are in buddy pairs, but also all get along very well. It's not for everybody, but it sure makes my life complete. (Oh and I also have a very old Schnauzer boy, who I don't count... cause he just sleeps all the time, haha).

Well, hate to say I don't take them for walks. There's too much traffic, big dogs off leash, danger danger. But, they get plenty of exercise chasing and playing in my big fenced yard and 2 story house. They are a bit sheltered, but they do get to go for rides in the car, visiting at friends, and sometimes shopping but 2 at a time.

I noticed a little bit of jealousy. Mine was nothing serious, Daisy Mae basicaly looked at the puppy, looked at me like "what it that thing" it lasted a few days but now they are the best of friends. I never had any bad or destructive behavior(sp)

Mine were so close in age, I was training both at the same time, with both pairs. The only problem I had was a bit of fighting over who gets to sit on mom's lap or sleep on mom's pillow; but we got over it and learned to share. It was possibly more testy cause I have all females, (who may have become more cooperative after being spayed).

One warning though.... Yorkies are addicting, and you are just getting started

No behavioral issues with Oliver... I was worried he would start going to the bathroom in the house because he sees her do it, but nope! Instead, he runs to "tell on her" when he sees her do it.. it's hilarious, lol. He also hasn't started chewing on anything he's not supposed to at all. If anything, it's been better as he now plays with ALL of his toys instead of just his favorites.. if she has it, he must get it from her, lol. He is jealous of the attention she's getting, for sure. You have to work very hard to ensure you greet the pup that came along first, feed them first, etc. Only time I may not feed Ollie first is when Mya does her business outside like a good girl, she get's a cheerio. Oliver usually comes running shortly after for his lol.

Everything takes longer, dinner time, grooming time, walks, etc.

With two they can play with each other and therefore require less of your attention.

Overall, in my opinion having two has more benefits and I dont think I would ever be with one again.

My older one was a bit jealous at first and didnt want to share anything, me, his toys, his food, etc. But he got over that and realized that he had a great play buddy and that I still loved him just as much as before.

I could have written this, as it is, exactly, down to every word, what I would have said...Bottom line, 2 is better than 1, overall...But I will tell you, the biggest drawback is not grabbing one up and taking him/her w/me in the car...It's just too much, compared to one, because I'm always in a hurry, and you need two hands to carry, open the door, yadayadayadayada...And you DON'T just take one, or the other will go into hissy-fits...But if ya'll go together, w/your babies, it won't be a problem...All the best w/your decision...

When my daughter brought Moka into our house we had already had an elderly special needs dog that didn't want to be bothered by a puppy but tolerated her. Then, three years later we had to have the elderly dog laid to rest, so we decided to bring in a puppy thinking it would be good for Moka (and we wanted two ). Anyways, the puppy, Mylee, has brought out the puppy in Moka that she never experienced with the elderly dog. It is hilarious to see her doing things way outside her normal "good girl" self, but not negative behavior at all...just puppy type stuff for an adult dog. Mylee has been a bad influence (in a good way, LOL). My two have become inseperable and play to exhausting each other. I think Moka has actually made training a puppy easier by showing her the routine and Mylee always wanting to be with her. We had no regressive issues with Moka in regards to her behavior. It was/is all positive. My ONLY regret is that Moka gets most of the attention from Mylee instead of me!!!
