![]() ![]() ![]() Not gonna lie -- sometime's it gets old because I get the opposite side... Jackson is a bigger boy at over 12lbs so it's always a "Is he a big Yorkie?" or "Is he a silky?" or "Wow, do they come in different sizes?" etc. But most of the time people just want to know his name and breed etc. There's nothing wrong with that. Don't bring your dog out in public if you don't wanna be asked. People don't know that you've been stopped all day by other people or whatever. I often start small talk when I see another persons dog and will usually guess the breed (I'm a good breed guesser, lol) or ask how old they are etc. I would be really offended if someone was like back off....

| ![]() Well, I was reading a book on how to get out of speeding tickets, written by a cop, and one of the questions he answered was if cops pick on people in beautiful red Ferrari's or bright yellow Lamborghinis. His answer was, "Well, you got the car to get noticed. Now you are getting noticed." I don't mean to be harsh, but if you didn't want to get noticed or have people coming over saying "Awwwww" every two seconds a Yorkie was the last dog you should have got. If you want to go to the park and have people leave you alone try a Pit Bull or maybe a Doberman. ![]() |

| ![]() Get yourself a ping pong paddle - tape a sign on it saying either "I do not speak English and my dog bites"!!!! or just plain "Buzz Off"! What do you think?????!!!!!

On a more serious note, if it really bothers you why not buy a portable playpen. That way everyone can admire but can't touch your baby. And if ask a question a Uh-ha or Mmmm will really be telling them your not interested in holding a conversation.

| ![]() I totally agree with you. Funny thing is, about a week ago I was at a pet boutique buying Rudy a new bed when this young girl (probably high schoolish) came in with an adorable 8 week old Shih Tzu... Saying that the dog will only be 3 pounds as an adult. I couldn't find it in my heart to tell her that if the dog is between 1 & 2 pounds at 8 weeks, there is NO WAY it will be 3 pounds as an adult. But, oh well... I didn't want to wake her from her fantasy world.

| ![]() I thought her vent was great, and the whole biting on command thing made me laugh. I took no offense to her post, and I know it was only meant to be half-serious because she was venting. I love talking about my furbaby to anyone who asks, but that's just because she's my only family within hundreds of miles! I can definitely understand, though, how it could get irritating if you're trying to have quiet time. Sometimes I have to walk Olive when children are getting home from school in my apartment complex and I dread it because they always want to pick her up or pet her and she loves the attention so much she won't do her business! I can completely relate. Sometimes you just want quiet time with your puppy! By the way, Joey - best costume EVER! I LOVE it!!!!!! |

| ![]() I love when people say how cute she is and try to explained that no, she is not a teacup. The question that makes me uncomfortable, usually asked in a crowd of people, is 'how much did you pay for her?". I hate that question and am never sure how to answer. I don't need 20 people knowing what I paid for my dog. |

"more than a hundred and less than a million" seriously - they will get the point - and it's better than saying, "i don't feel comfortable answering that" or whatever - that way you can both laugh it off and move on. | |

| ![]() Face it! Our dogs are people magnets, for better or worse. If you can't stand the heat, then get outta the hot tub! You visit a public place with a book, a sandwich, and a cute "lil puppy" and you expect peace and quiet? Ha! How funny is that? Get real! Either leave the dog behind or find another spot that is not so public. You cannot have it both ways unfortunately. We humans just love small mammals to death! That is our nature. Asking "dumb and irritating" questions comes with the territory and we all hafta deal with them when we take our dogs out, especially if we dress them up in clothes and bows like they are our "children". BTW, my dog wears neither but she still draws a crowd where ever she goes. Vent all you want, but it ain't a gonna change a thang. By now you must expect someone to ask how much you paid for your dog. Why does that bother you? Just tell them she "cost enough" and be done with it. Or.......just wear a tee shirt that reads EFF OFF! Chuckle! |

| ![]() i was thinking....people do that to me all the time when i'm out with my kids (minus the question of how much they cost). i even had a lady walk up to me in the mall and hand me her number saying she wanted my daughter to be in her next pageant. people ask the same questions - how old? how much did they weigh? blah blah blah. it's life. people just assume if you're out in public that you're not concerned with privacy and "alone time." |
