I do not know of any reputable breeder that would hand over any of their pups to a rescue. If I had a pup with a problem - I would still check out prospected parents so I could place him myself in a really good home and know where he is. Period. Sounds like it was or could be a pet owner that turned him in. My hubby was out our local pound (since we donate food to them and we go there to drop off the bags) and there was someone there that was dropping off a bassett puppy, since he was 6 months and they decided they did not want him anymore. So sad! They said that he was not looking like a puppy anymore and he was turning out to where they no longer liked him. So wrong!

Top knot...The rescue place handles puppies from shelters and breeders. Perhaps a puppy mill breeder? Thats what she told me. It was because his ears were floppy. Funny thing is now one is up and one is still floppy. too funny and too cute! Im glad I rescued him and now he has a great home!

He looks like a Yorkie to me. I'll bet he was the last one left in a backyard breeder's litter that didn't sell. Since males are close to puberty at five months and can even start marking, I bet that's why she turned him over to a rescue group. He's very cute!

Nancy1999...I got diesel at 14 weeks old and he was too young to neuter. They had me fill out an application before i even went to see him. It was with Help a Pooch rescue in Algonquin, IL..and they have adoptions at petco every saturday in algonquin. The neutering was included in the adoption fee of 375.00. and Since I got him the lady who I adopted from at the rescue place has emailed me to see how he was doing and if I needed anything. I guess thats a good sign. She was very concerned about adopting a small dog without all the information about me and my family. Im sure that I will hear from her at the end of the month when he is due to get neutered.

Oh cool, sounds like everything was on the up and up! Some Yorkies ears droop during teething, calcium is taken from cartilage and uses to create teeth. Joey went through a period where he looked like he had an all white head hair, but around 11 months it turned beige, and his hair is incredibly silky, they change so much the first three years.

| YT Addict | I would shave those ears and I bet you they'll stand ! He's at the teething stage right now, but keep them shaved and I don't doubt they'll go up? Derby's ears weren't even close to looking like that, and they've never stood. Those little ears are halfway there! lucky! Your little furbaby is so cute!!! Awww...! Welcome home puppy!!!
