| Does this sound like a puppymill? In the Big Nickel..my husband was reading an ad about some pups for sale. The Female yorkies were 500.00 and they had littlw male pups for 200.00..it said KENNEL REDUCTION!! The name on the ad said Cavalier breeders..i tried to type them in and came up with nothing.(must not have a website)I tried to call them but there was no answer im going to try and call them back later.. |

| That's interesting. But you will need to talk to them first and see what is going on, or visit them if you can. Kind of sounds like it, though. Pat |

| If an advertiser has so many dogs that they need to hold a "kennel reduction" I would be certain in my own mind, that they are either a miller or a CBer. Either way, I would proceed with caution.. |

So, before you write this person off, call them up. talk to them> Ask about the kennel reduction. Most breeders will tell you if you flat out ask. We do if pressed.

| I think the only way to know for sure is to take a trip over there. I wouldn't want to make that call, if I didn't see for myself. It could be a very good Breeder, a backyard Breeder, or a puppy mill. You will never be able to answer that one if you haven't been there.

just make sure you visit and check them out. no out side housed yorkies...ect. i know breeders of larger breeds do have outside runs. that is perfectly ok! but yorkies shouldnt ever be kept out...i'd definitely check them out though. good luck!

| To be fair to this kennel it's hard to base an opinon w/ not having all the information or seeing them/talking, etc.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | You're best way to tell is to go there and look for yourself. You don't know anything by just talking to them on the phone...they could tell you what you want to hear. Check it out with your own eyes.

| IMO a "good" breeder wouldn't need to put an ad out to reduce their kennel. Wouldn't they have people lining up to take their dogs off their hands?

| I called them b/c I am looking for a male....they are $200 b/c they are almost 6 months old. They are also pretty big. The small one she said is around 10 pounds...and maybe not quite full grown yet. Does this help any?
