have you ever stepped on your baby!?!?!?!?!?

milu is my first dog, and i've owned her for almost 2 years now and i have NEVER stepped on her. i've always been VERY careful.

i was in a big hurry cleaning the house the other day before people came over for a puppy play date, and i accidently stepped on davinci. i was SOOOOOOOOOOOO scared and i was SURE i broke his leg, i was ready to take him to the emergency room, but he was fine, i mean, he yelped, and limped a little bit, but was fine walking right the way......like just a few seconds later...

i felt sooooo bad for my carelessness. i usually have him wear a bell so i know where he is and if he is near my feet. i had taken it off of him for a bath and hadn't put it back on.

i guess i was really lucky maybe because he is still a baby and their bones are a lot more flexible? because i was so sure i had totally broken his leg when i stepped on him!!!!!!

lessons learned -
1. BE CAREFUL!!!!
2. always remember to put the bell back on dog!
3. just let people come over to my messy house! it's not THAT big of a deal! LOL!

Joey's breeder suggested I learn to do the Yorkie Shuffle, and this is where you walk without raising your feet. Can't really do this in heels! You were lucky with Milu, Joey loves to hang around the feet, especially as a puppy. I think he's learned a couple of things since then. I guess their bones are still flexible, and sometimes we don't step on the whole foot, but just a nail, still very painful for them. Guess you'll have to learn the Maltese Shuffle! I love rule three, by the way!

Ellie's feet have been stepped on too many times to count.
Honestly, there is just no way to avoid it all the time when she stands by our feet and moves when we move. It happens less often now. I think she has learned. Never anything broken. In fact, sometimes she almost throws us off balance by being so close.

Sometime back I read you or someone talking about the yorkie shuffle. I found I did that a lot especially in the kitchen. DH likes to mess around in the kitchen a lot & would get upset with Roxy. So I showed him how to do the shuffle. I'd made a little dance shuffle out of it & sing some silly thing about doing the yorkie shuffle to a beat. DH thought I was crazy, but that's nothing new. lol So I remind him how to do it every now & then just for fun, but have also taught him how to back her out of the kitchen & tell her to wait. She does pretty good now, but it's not perfect.

LOL! well, i usually do shuffle my feet. i was just in panic cleaning mode. it was emergency cleaning. (i think all cleaning in my house is done via emergency cleaning.) LOL!

what happened was a friend wanted to come see davinci, and i said, "ok, but i need some time to clean" and she said "how much time you need?" i told her i would call her when i was done.

i started cleaning running around the house, because i didn't want to take too long to call her, because then she would know how messy my house was if i took too long to call her.

thank god davinci is ok!!!!!!!!!!

yea, milu does that too. when i only had milu, i would be super careful around her, and i would also watch everyone that comes to my house like a hawk. whenever someone might step on milu, milu would scream and i would scream. lol. and i usually run around pushing people out of the way before they "might" step on her. i mean, i apologize for pushing them, but i don't want them to step on milu.

I stepped on allie the second day we got her, that cry will never get out of my head, it was and is the most horrible sound ever! Thank god she was not hurt ,from that day forward I do not take a step without looking to see where she is!!!

My friend has a chi named Mr. Big and he is 2 lbs. Her dad stepped on him and it was $2,500 to fix his broken leg. I always remember that and when I got Teddi she immediately got a collar with bells. She always jingle jangles so I know where she is.

Laughs I do that to in fact when I'm outside or at the store I forget and find myself still doing it .I've even tripped over little things hahaha

Before I learned to shuffle Copper got stepped on a few times. I have never stepped on little Maddie though, but if you even get close she screams it scares me everytime... I am sure she has been stepped on before because man she lets you know if you get close to her with your feet. The bells also help alot.

No, no, no! That's not happenin'! You definitely be making fun of me. I'd never be able to log on to yt again ever. It's different everytime as I can never remember what I did or said the time before other than shuffle my feet. I think my tune (off tune) kinda resembles the Hokey Pokey and sing/chant whatever pops out of my mouth about doing the yorkie shuffle. Maybe clap my hands a little or whatever. You'll have to use your imaginations. You can probably imagine something even crazier than I could ever show you. It would be fun if there was someone talented enough to create such a song/dance & do a video so we could all learn it though.

Now let's not get carried away on this show business stuff. I still have to go out into public at times. At least on yt, no one sees me. DH likes puttsin in the kitchen alot, but he gets so tense & I was just trying to help him relax a little & give him a visual on moving his feet. Choreographer are you kidding?!?!? Yes, of course you are!!!

But look at you go on writing the words! Now there's an upcoming songwriter. You go girl!!!
