Rizzo's mom is on line now. hopefully she can get some new pictures up so Mary can see him better.

Hair color can change over time. and being this poor dog was a mess many things could change the look not to mention lighting from the picture. as for weight from the pictures they look about the same size and you know what size your baby was. yet the pictures look so close in size. many people guess the weight so I would not go by that either.

I noticed on the other rescue thread she has been having problems attaching newer pictures of him. if thats still the case many here on YT can help her with that. she can email any of us and we can post them for her and you.

some have offered to help get this baby to you if it is him.

I hope the OP gets back with you soon, I know if It was me I couldn't think straight, Id be so happy thinking I might of found this rescues owners.
thank you...she responded with his microchip company and number...and it is no where near Yoshi....so most i guess it is not him...

No!!! Please Mary, please don't give up hope! When I take Tiggy to the groomers', he always loses a pound or two from hair,,,and this Rosco/Yoshi has triple the amount of hair that Tiggy has had:D

Im so sorry, I can not believe it is not him.
is there any way he could of got microchiped a 2nd time. is there a way to find out how long that chip has been in?

Sorry it wasn't Yoshi, but it sure LOOKS like it to me...alot of yorkies do look alike and in your situation that is a glimmer of hope;) Keep the faith

Mary, were there any other markings on him besides the chip?
Chips can be replaced if necessary. What about a bump somewhere
or a specific marking in his coat? There must be something else
that can say for sure wheather it is or isn't Yoshi.
I hope you think of something else so you can be certain and put
this to rest for now.

as far as marking i don't think so...as from what i remember nothing...but i did pm her back because is isn't resting to easy with me...

i am asking her what scanner was used to scanned him since she said she went back o his files...and also if she could go get him scanned with a resq scanner...i know that it may be hard to take out a chip but to insert a 2nd one is easy..and i also know that not all scanners will be able to pick up all chips...and although it may be just a long shot...i don't want to look back regretting that i didn't ask her to do that for me...it's been over a year and no telling if i will ever find him...but due to the similarities in these pictures i can't just turn my back on him....i need a near for sure answer...not just want some paperwork or file says...this is serious not helping this migraine i am having....but although trying to lay down wasn't doing much good either since i can't stop thinking about it..

I've heard on the news that many times around Riverside Co, where I used to live, there's many dog thieves and if they know the dog has a chip, they will dig it out from under the skin and throw it away. If you know what to feel for you can find it, esp if the dog is thin. uni's chip is super easy to find. maybe whoever took Yoshi way back when *could* have done this. NOT saying anyone has done this, just throwing it out there.

Also the pic of the foster doggie doesn't look like 8lbs to me. My foster here is 8.5 and she is huge compared next to Uni who is 5lbs

Maybe the little baby looks soooo much like Yoshi is a sign that you are supposed to rescue him anyways?????:D

that sounds painful...to dig out a chip...also from reading the thread amanda posted it sounds like that was the weight the vet got him weight in at.

Mary I just read through that whole thread and it doesn't say anything about him even being seen yet by the vet.. She says that she was at the shelter within an hour of the call and took him home. I bet money the shelter just guessed his weight...Maybe finding out what shelter he was at and calling them, you can ask if they weigh or just estimate weight on dogs.. I know here they don't weigh the shelter dogs..There are just to many of them..Also, do you have a phone number for Rizzo's mom so you can talk to her on the phone instead of emailing her.. Also, contact the rescue directly...They should want to do everything they can to see if this is Yoshi and reunite him with you or atleast give you peace of mind....

this was the line the read and probably read it wrong...

He has to be neutured and have some vetting done he is approx 3.5 yrs old and 8.5 lbs.

but she pm'ed me back...told me she has contacted the shelter to get more info on the chip in him...also contacted the microchip company and left her info since the person that does the microchipping has left for the day....she will also try to find someone that has a ResQ scanner to see if it can pick up any other chips....and she also mention that he is 8.9 lbs not the 3.5 like i stated. I am pretty sure it isn't Yoshi now but I just didn't want to look back and regret not asking everything i should have ask. Thank you.

i just got another pm stating that she has a vet appt tomorrow and they do have a ResQ scanner so we will know for sure in the morning....

Mary, I dont know what to say. I agree with some of the posters.
Shelters usually estimate a weight. They get too many dogs and if a dog is 3 lbs they could say 1.5 lbs. IF it's 6 lbs they could say 8+...
The only way to know if his chip was removed(unlikely) if he has a scare on his back somewhere near the shouldre blades.
Today I have been an emotional wreck over Cookie and this just turned my insides upside down.

If it were me and I was the foster mom. I would be taking cell phone video of him and more pictures also and sending them to you.
I know you have waited way too long and I'm going on 4 months.
The pain is still fresh and I know you are on pins and needles over this...

she said she will send me more pictures when he gets clean up...so all i can do is wait it out although i am beginning to think it is not him regardless how much they do look a like.

Aww I am so sorry it's not him. It looks exactly like him, I looked at both pics..only diff. i see is the coloring like someone said and Yoshi's ears look a tad smaller/thinner. I hope Yoshi is okay wherever he is:(.
