| Ears Up and Humping Well my 11 week old boy Yankee's ears popped up this morning! He looks so cute and my daughters noticed it as soon as they got home from school. As he was playing his favorite game of "Bite Toes" he started to hump my oldest daughters foot. Later on I had a friend stop by and he tried to preform favors on his foot as well. Is this normal at this age? I knew this would happen sometime but not this soon! My wife was shocked, the girls (7 & 8) thought he was itching LMAO. I know one thing......it's nice to have another guy in the house! Any suggestions! |

| Joey sometimes humps his little stuffed doggy (he's not fixed yet, but will be in the next month or two), and he gets REALLY embarrassed if you let him know you know what he's doing, haha. If you just push your little one off of whoever he's humping and say something like "knock it off" or "quit" firmly, he should hopefully get the picture. Other than that, getting rid of his main source of testosterone would probably work well...

Seriously, it is normal but they can wear themselves out doing it. You don't want them to be excessive with it. It could lead to a hypoglycemic episode at that age or they can prolapse their penis. Boys...you gotta love 'em!

| Reesie started humping when he was 11 weeks old also. I had no idea that they start that young!!! You want to make sure that he knows it is wrong to hump a human, they do this as a dominance thing (or so I've been told.) It does help to bring down their "equipment" so it is easier for the vet to fix them. If the "equipment" is not in the right place, the vet has to do exploratory surgery to find it. This is harder on the dog, and it costs more for the surgery.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, I was so shocked to see a young puppy do this, I thought it was something only older dogs did. I agree with the others, it's very normal, and Joey had a stuffed bear, we called "Big Red," he really loved Big Red, but about a month after neutering, he dumped her and preferred playing catch!

He started humped his teddy then. At 6 months i had him neutered he is not 10 months and he's toy dog still gets it. I thought that he would stop it after the operation but that has not happened. | |

| Reesie only humped his bed (for some odd reason) and he was really going to town one night (right before he got fixed) and his little boy part came out and got stuck for several hours!!! I had to end up helping it back in. Not something I EVER want to have to do, EVER again!!!! After that, I covered his bed with a towel and he never humped it again. (At least I have never seen him do it.)
