Funny, I never knew there was a linkage between the two...you know...like 'the knee bone's connected to the leg bone' ditty. You could get him a small toy to abuse instead of any handy foot......
Seriously, it is normal but they can wear themselves out doing it. You don't want them to be excessive with it. It could lead to a hypoglycemic episode at that age or they can prolapse their penis.
Boys...you gotta love 'em!
