| Everyone gave me a hard time in the beginning. My family said I was crazy that I was taking pictures to send out as Valentines. I think there exact words were that i was "sick" lol. Guess who the first ones where to line up and ask me where there's were. They wanted extra ones to send to there friends to boot!! The moral is like the above poster said, they will all come around and fight over who's going to hold him. I know my family does. |

| Have your brother check out those "$200 - $300" Yorkies he found on the internet. The ones I have seen at that price have SCAM written all over them. I bet if he answers one of those ads, the next thing he'll hear is that the owner is a missionary in some African country and can't keep the dog any longer. Please send $$$ by Western Union to cover the shipping costs ....

| I feel your pain; I also got grief for spending $650 on a parrot. Now I just don't talk about what I spend on feathered kids or furbabies! ![]() Ask yourself if the money you spend will matter to your family in 5 years. If not? Then go for it!

| YT 500 Club Member | I can understand your frustration, I know people who think I'm mad for paying good money for a dog but they quite happily go out and spend a fortune on a peice of must have technology which they get bored with after six months because its no longer the latest, so they want the next one. Or it only last 2 years and they have to go out and buy another. I'd remind your brother that the nice new snow mobile is only of any use so long as you have snow so will spend most of its life spent locked in a garage, where as your pup will be with you all year round. I just dont know why other people think they have the right to dictate to others what they should be doing with their own lives and money. |

| Sounds like your breeder is very reputable. Most will only take cash.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm so nervous that Adonis will be gone. I wish we could band together as Codependent Yorkie Allience Enablers Worldwide and beg this breeder to save him for you. I want you to get him so badly that I would call her myself and plead with her to give you first choice. If my grown kid made a "heart" decision that was expensive......before I said anything....I would ask myself "Is it illegal, immoral or fattening?" Answer NO! Then I would say "sometimes you just have to feed the soul". Go for it! |

| You know what? A friend of mine bought a yorkie for $200 from a puppy mill several years ago and has spent thousands on medical care and now doubts that he will make it to the age of 7. However, her sister bought a pup around the same time from a more reputable breeder, spent ~$1000 and has NEVER had any health issues and the little guy still looks and acts like a puppy. Spending a little money now may save you a lot of money and heartache in the future... Another reason to spend a few extra bucks on the best dog food as well! |

| Not at all! $1100 is a small price to pay for a healthy and well-socialized dog that will love you for the rest of its life. |

| while i didn't pay that much for Sadie, i agree that 1100 is sometimes not nearly enough money for a dog that was bred to perfection and was taken care of by their breeder. i have come to love yorkies in general so much that contributing to a breeder who is doing the correct job of breeding to standard and taking that extra measure to make sure their pups are a walking perfection is well worth it to me. Sadie is great, i'd have paid ten fold for her as well, but she comes with biting/nipping habits during playtime, and she's not showable which i sometimes regret because she's got the personality for it just not the standard. if her breeder had been worth his weight maybe that personality would be placed into a better suited little body...who knows?? but heck i love her to pieces and loving something this much means that money is no object!! GO FOR IT! |

| I'm loving all the reply's, thank you all.. wish I had time to reply to each one personally, but I have to say, I feel less crazy now, even though I heard a lot of "you're nuts" today. While I am still considering Adonis, I have found a breeder right here where I live (finally!) who seems reputable. I am going over there hopefully Thursday to check things out. She has 3 pups who she believes will be bigger, at least 6 pounds, she's thinking more like 8. They are a little cheaper, and right here in town. Not ready to go yet, only 8 weeks old, so a month to wait.. but close enough that I can visit. I feel good about this breeder so far, and I feel ever better about the fact that I can go check things out, PICK a puppy, watch it grow, and then bring it home. Slower sometimes is better. I'm prepared, but I'd like a little more time to be better prepared $$ wise. I'll keep you all posted! Either way, I'm getting my baby, SOON. If people don't like it, tough. I'm at the point now where I'm saying if you don't agree with me that's fine, just zip it lol...
