| Will blackout curtains let me sleep later? I guess my question is does a dog wake up due to an internal clock, or due to sunlight? I've started crate training Ruger, and so far so good, but I could use a little more sleep in the morning. In my bed Ruger will sleep pretty much as late as I do, but in the crate he is up at the crack of dawn. Would blackout curtains help? Or maybe if I cover the crate like a parakeet, but then he can't see me before he goes to sleep (keeps him quiet). |

| I used to cover the crate with a blanket that was knitted, so it had little holes in it. It made my boys feel warm and secure and they never whined for me when the blanket was there. However, I think the waking up in the crate is an internal clock thing... not a sunlight thing. On weekends my boys are up at 6-630am just because we get up that early on week days. I let them out and we all go back to bed and they won't get up again until I do!
