Rose- I am just now seeing this and I am so sorry. I know how special Blu was as the perfect spunky Yorkie and as your baby. I am so shocked as I know you are. God Bless you Rose. RIP BLU

I know words are not much comfort right now, but you and your family will be in my prayers. He was a doll for sure, so is his sister. I do not know this breeder, but I did look at her yorkies on her web site. One of her studs, Gambler and my Chip have alot of the same names in their pedigrees. They even look alike to me. If you do not mind my asking, is Gambler related to Blu? Chip is my baby, I love him so very much, but he is different from my other babies. He acts totally strange some times.

No, Gambler is in no way related to Lana and Blu. Gambler is the father of my OTHER girl I mentioned that also came from Stephanie indirectly. She is 100% healthy. My vet says she has the best knees he has ever felt in a Yorkie, she bile acid and blood paneled perfectly, strong heart, perfect vision and hearing, strong hips, good bite with no retained baby teeth, etc. She is the one that had her first litter of puppies at 2 years old in 2009 and they are all super healthy just like their mom. I have had no issues with this line whatsoever so far.

I have felt guilty for not posting my experience with Stephanie sooner. Maybe it could have helped....

Whoops sorry, I didn't read this far before I posted. Looks like Rose already answered everything. :)

I just know I am going off what my vet has said and there was an under lying problem to begin with we just never saw it coming
I always thought blu had an odd way about him but you know how are precious yorkies are they can be different with there demeanor I am hoping it was not a genetic thing and it was just something that cannot be passed on I just do not know I thought about it all night and he just did not act any different yesterday morning my vet feels his death was instant and there was nothing I could have done he did not choke on anything his pee and poo was normal in the morning as I watched him miss the pad again lol

blu was my pedestal dog to say it was hey mom what are ya doing or don't step back I am behind you or oh no not another bath let me hide but you can still see me
or is it bedtime yet can I get the treat bag please can I have 2 or there is a stranger in the house can I bite them he loved a great challenge he was a bull dog in a little body or how about a car ride today he was one of the greatest little dogs I have ever owned and he will be with me a very long time he made you love him he was a very demanding little fellow i really think he was part clown
so now he can run and jump and roll and get dirty if he wants and I am ok

I will share the necropsy report with steph what she does from there I cannot not control I just know I will not ever answer and email or a phone call it is my job to make sure my puppy and dog owners are happy I realize you cannot please everyone but you can at least try
I am not going to always please everyone but I have to know in my heart I have done what is right for me and my program I like my sleep when I can get it I hope all of you that have brynstar dogs may they live a very long and healthy life
I do believe that sometimes as much home work we do and research some things are meant to happen no matter what we do the future is never to be seen until it happens and it is what we do with it from there

Oh Rose this had me in full waterworks...I am just so sorry. He was such a special little guy and I can absolutely attest to how much Rose TRULY loved little Blu and how much this has devastated her. It is just not fair that he had to leave so soon. :(

You know what my theory is on Blu and if that's the case I hope that there is some justice for him. We won't truly know until the report comes back, but whatever it is don't think for a second that it was your fault. You did nothing but love that baby and give him a wonderful home! I sit here looking at GoGo who came from you...and she is such a spoiled brat ;), it is more than obvious to me what kind of great loving home she came from. So don't you dare say this was your fault, I know better! You are a good, honest, and highly reputable breeder and the world needs more like you!

I agree, I spent the weekend with Rose and Blu and a few of her other pups, Blu adored and idolized Rose and she can get a dog to pay attention to her in about 1 minute. Rose really has a gift with dogs. Again I am so sorry about this - Blu was a very special little boy and Rose is a great momma and she tries her best to breed for health. I have one of her pups and she came to me with the best personality and attitude. God Bless you Rose

I've often wondered if he was a poodle/yorkie mix, but never had the nerve to present that thought to the owner. She does love her boy and I'd do nothing to upset her.

My TJ is as you describe. He is Black and Tan and ALL his hair is curly. In the Summer time, after his bath, I brush him and put some light hair products in and then I scrunch all his air and let him air dry. Personally I happen to LOVE his hair ;) But I do admit, in the Winter when I have to blow dry his hair, at the end he just looks like a HUGH puff ball (LOL)...

Anyway, as far as I know, he's all yorkie, just got some cray curls :p

she did not give me the courtesy of refusing the dog because of this

What a precious beautiful baby. I have tears now, because with every post you make, I feel your heartache for your baby blu. Again, I am so very sorry.

Thank you. Chip has always been healthy too. His knees are fine and all his blood work is good, but I cant help but be concerned after seeing that Gambler had the same Rothoby names as Chip in his pedigree. I am a total dummy when it comes to Pedigrees. I am sure your little girl is a doll. This is my Chip

Rothby is a very good and well respected line. The breeder just passed in 2009, sadly.

I had read that she passed away in an online Magazine about Yorkies. I'm glad that they are good lines. My Trouble has some Rothoby in his Pedigree too, but not as much as Chip does. Chip has Crosswinds too.

Rose, I know this must have been heartbreaking for you to show and champion this little dog with the open font and then have it drop dead. I was ready to cry when I read that it had just fell over like this. Anyway, did you ever get the necropsy results?
You must have worked long hours to get him to this point and I know you must just be still sad about it. Did you keep any of his babies to show? And if so, how are they doing in the ring?
Was just wondering how the necropsy turned out.

I will let Rose answer on the necropsy, although as I understood there were multiple problems. Stephanie was contacted and I don't believe Rose has ever received an answer from her.

I do know for a fact that she did not keep any of his puppies or show them, they are all in pet homes only after this terrible incident. Blu's sister that I had is also in a forever pet home after learning of the issues in this line. Rose is a very responsible breeder and would never sacrifice the health of her dogs or puppies just to breed.

hmmmm
i finds this very interesting that it was brought up after this length of time
blu's font was very small and closed by 6 months none of his siblings had one
blu had a very apple head and was very baby faced
as far as champion i do not know you and where you are getting your facts from yes he was shown in akc but never championed i do not consider his ukc champion ship something to brag about it is more of practice showing to me

as far as his one and only breeding all three pups were petted out no breeding rights and all have been s/n and are doing well no issues to date and they are all close to a year old now why would i continue to continue the line knowing what i know of blus condition with his heart
i kept nothing out of his lines and all puppy homes were made aware of blue's death and i will stand behind this breeding if something was to show up with one of these 3 pups 2 live within 5 miles of me so i may be able to keep in contact with them and one went to a very dear friend
as far as a breeder i am very small i have had maybe 8 litters in 6 years
i get only 2 to 3 pups per litter and i only breed one or twice a year at most
i have spent many dollars testing my dogs read for your self where i lost a pup to liver shunt testing
i will say
if you are a hound for some one i am willing to play i never showed blue with an open font it was closed please get your facts straight
but i am pretty sure you do not want to go there it is funny to me that this be brought up after someone was just reviewed on this very subject open font and i would take a wild guess where your info has come from
as there is very few people that know my business

as far as blues necropsy he died from a cardiomyopathy
a heart condition and i am very sad by this but it is in the yorkie more than we realize
and another genetic fault that many are unaware of

but thank you for asking
and i do not feel i need to answer to anyone as i always do the right thing no matter what i take care of my pet owners always if a problem arises
and i have had only one problem arise in 7 years and it was due to a puppy being given a lepto shot

KYBLUE 07-07-2010 01:35 PM

as for blu i would be very happy to post his necropsy report and it was very comprehensive no where does it state he had any skeletal problems no open font and believe me it was a state of the art necropsy
and i find this very sad that this is brought up after all this time on a very special little dog who died
to try and discredit me

yes, I have been wondering for a long time. I read a lot of things on here and maybe I am too soft. Gosh, I can't even read the Rainbow topics, too heartbreaking. I thought of you several times. If you posted somewhere that info about the cardiomyopathy, I missed it.

I don't know anything about your business and I am sorry you felt the need to explain all that.
And as for the hound comment, I do have a mind and feelings of my own and I don't know what you are talking about or who or what is going on behind the scenes of YT, and I AM SURE I DON'T WANT TO KNOW.
I guess I should have worded that differently about the open font thing, didn't mean you had showed him with open font, just using that as a means of indentifying which of your dogs, which thinking back was not the proper way of doing so. I knew YOU said he was Championed, and thought you were proud of it.

Again, SO SORRY if I brought this up if it caused you to drag up your hurt about little Blu.

Amazing, how months have gone by since your Blue has passed away and someone has brought this to light. Especially since there is only 3 people that knew about the outcome of his necropsy. We are aware that the necropsy was performed University of Kentucky and the final outcome. Any other speculation or gossip is subject to slander.

It appears someone is operating in their unusual manner, bringing somebody elses business to public in an attempt to take the focus off of their own wrong doings. Standard operating procedure.
