| Yes, in general ACA is not considered very reputable. Personally if I were you I would only consider purchasing a pup that was AKC registered. But that's me, I'm sure there are others who might not care especially if you are just looking for a pet quality pup. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ACA, APRI and a couple of others are registries that puppymills, big byb's and not very good small byb's use. Now, that is not to say the very same groups of breeders won't ever use AKC but you won't find a reputable breeder using those other registries. I don't mean to offend anyone with dogs from those registries, my Ruby is one. The breeder advertised AKC, and not knowing any differently I didn't question the paperwork I was given until later...by then, it was too late....I knew the lame excuse the breeder gave me was a lie. And, it didn't matter at that point I was in love.

| if I had to use a nutshell definition I would say that the AKC = lineage = purebred. i also believe that AKC breeders are breeding to standard. so, yes, there are differences. in reading your other posts, i see that you have an aca pup that you are planning to breed. would her not being an akc pup change your plans as you learn more about the differences between the two? i've read your eventual plan is to breed the 'best of the best', from what I have learned so far on this site, i think the belief would be from a breeding perspective, that the 'best of the best' would be akc registered pups.

| Please don't take this wrong but please don't believe AKC breeders are breeding to standard. YTCA members do (or at least the majority of them do - I am not a member so someone can correct me if I am wrong) but many, AKC breeders do not. It is one of the reasons we encourage people to see the parents and not buy over the internet.

| The Empress Sounds like a great plan, I have to wait until my pup purse shows up so I can bring my little one!! Yes we're on the ocean...not my house though we're about a mile in from the water. It is beautiful here, and our Mt. Washington apparently has the best snow conditions in the world right now!! Which is really great because we have olympians practicing on our mountain...including the ski team from Ghana (one man, he is called the Snow Leopard) cool eh? I haven't taken Billie to the ocean or the mountain...yet! but now that I've typed this I can't for the life of me figure out why not!!

I have a number of purses...out of control at one time...do you need a stroller, I have 4... Have you always lived there? What did you do so right to live there and see what you see everyday...I am in Colorado and get to see the mountains but to see the ocean is something I would die for... I know the Snow Leopard... How big is your village? Shame on you for not taking your little one to the ocean...while it might be to cold right now...he will love it in the summer...
