ACA, APRI and a couple of others are registries that puppymills, big byb's and not very good small byb's use. Now, that is not to say the very same groups of breeders won't ever use AKC but you won't find a reputable breeder using those other registries.
I don't mean to offend anyone with dogs from those registries, my Ruby is one. The breeder advertised AKC, and not knowing any differently I didn't question the paperwork I was given until later...by then, it was too late....I knew the lame excuse the breeder gave me was a lie. And, it didn't matter at that point I was in love.
