Does anyone else feel this way, or do i need to have my mental health evaluated

Although my sweet boy isnt a Yorkie, he is a Maltese, I treat him like he is human lol...or so my family says The other day while eating dinner, Rylie was jumping and scratching at my leg and I said no "son"....my husband looked at me like I had lost my mind lol......My kids say I love him more than I do them.....lol.....I tell them that Rylie listens better than they do ha ha. I love this little dog to pieces

Molly was 2 years old when i rescued her and she's 4 now. I could sit for hours just gazing at her snuggled up by me sleeping, although i wouldnt confess that to anyone apart from other yorkie parents!!

It's kind of funny, but even as a child, I always referred to my "pet" as a member of my family...my little brother (we always had male dogs). As an adult, every pet has been my baby. Burney, my golden, thought he was a lap dog...and he actually was!
It is probably their size and their robust personality that makes them so irresistable.
Most of my friends are animal lovers, thank goodness, so we often have true confessions about our fur babies!

I feel the same way about my girls! I just look at them and think I can't believe they are mine!I love them so much.And I feel the same way about the one that isn't a Yorkie too!They are my babies now that my 3 skin kids are grown.

My exact feelings I think they help fill that empty nest for some of us
plus i have loved furbabies my whole life so it is very easy to just dote on them now, my son also tells me that i like the dogs better than him and on a few occasions i might have

Well, Ike is my everything. I look at him and I see my baby. People think I am crazy, but I do not care. My husband is treats him the same way! We say we were labor for weeks - because it took us so long to find him LOL. He has changed my life. Yes, he is spoiled

Being an empty nester is really unbearable. Prince has really helped me get through it. (If that's possible...to get through it).

Nope! You're normal! Too many of us feeling the same way as you. Just don't expect most people around you to begin to understand. Just deal with it, & go on with your life. We know what's real & they are the ones missing out. Enjoy!

I agree....my skin daughter says that my DH and I are going through a "second parenthood" That's ok. I plan to have a yorkie or two for the rest of my life.

Same feeling here! We have had our little Sunny (4 year old puppymill rescue) for a little over 2 months now, and we are so totally bonded with her (my daughter and I) that we talk about it almost daily! We can't get over how much like a sweet little baby she is. (She actually lays in my arms like a newborn and closes her eyes. I'm not sure I'd tell that to too many people, because I know they would think I'm a little off. But I know you all understand.) I can't believe we went so long without a Yorkie!
