It's kind of funny, but even as a child, I always referred to my "pet" as a member of my family...my little brother (we always had male dogs). As an adult, every pet has been my baby. Burney, my golden, thought he was a lap dog...and he actually was!
It is probably their size and their robust personality that makes them so irresistable.
Most of my friends are animal lovers, thank goodness, so we often have true confessions about our fur babies!
