and if you look, most breeders these days do not allow visits. However, their rule for that is not set in stone. I flew there to meet them and pick up my puppy. you have to go through a lot to get a puppy from them. You do not even get to pick out your puppy until they are at least 6 weeks old. I sat on their waiting list 3 months!

YES she has a lot of breeds, but look through there, she doesn't have a lot of puppies. I have been waiting for her to have another yorkie litter for 4 months!

People, get over the designer dog issue, it is not going to go away. And you make it sound like making money is a crime, I see less upset of people selling babies and children. in haiti children are given away (slaves) and sold (to ANYONE) for 100.00 and up depending on how hard up the people are it could be for a can of food. 80% of the people there make an average of $1.00 a day.

It makes me sick when people abuse and neglect animals as much as the next person. but this witch hunt has got to stop, it is hurting people who are not puppy mills, i have seen it so many times now.

See, you are the kind of person who judges and hates breeders. it is LEGAL to have that many dogs and pups.. USDA breeders are considered commercial breeders. You may not like it, but it is their RIGHT to have these animals, to breed them and to make money from them. people will never stop buying from breeders, or even pet stores.

And she tells you the answers to your "questions".. call them, the owner and her staff will answer ANY question you have and give you 100 references if you ask. They have MANY staff caring for these dogs and pups and they are well socialized.. mine sure was when I got her.

Most breeders do have kennels, they may say they don't but they do. Her kennels are very nice. You have the right to free speech but not the right to call someone a puppy mill without proof. that is infringing on the breeders right. And breeders have the right to their property, and animals are property. we own them, that is just a fact

Honestly in the five years I've been a member here at YT your posts make the most sick to my stomach. Mills are not ok, ever!!! No matter whether they are legal or not. I'm going to stop my post now before I get banned, I'm so mad.

You are right. She states her occupation is "hobby breeder", and I don't think "hobby breeder" is an occupation. A hobby breeder is someone who used to breed/show/exhibit, and now only breeds as a hobby. Hobbies don't pay the bills, that's why they are called hobbies.

Aside from the ridiculous defense of a mass breeding 'facility' - the reference by mommadog1 that

is wrong on so many levels considering the umimaginable devestation Haiti is experiencing and an insult to all Haitians in what is the worst disaster that poor country has ever experienced.

Ugh. I get so mad when I ready anything about a puppy mill. I can't even imagine someone trying to defend a site like this. You have to be an adiot to think you can good quality healthy loving puppies brought up in a place like that!
I understand people make mistakes but people who knowingly support these places should be banned from IT.

You won't find too many people defending a place like this - it's rare. True dog lovers don't like to see anyone mass breeding and with good reason.

We used to have a member here that loved defending places like this - I remember a particular time she was defending a place called Puppy Haven Kennel over and over.

She insisted people were judging when they deemed it a mill - She insisted the man running it was a wonderful person - loved his dogs....they lived in clean humane conditions (all while selling to PET STORES) -

She even had the nerve to tell people to call and speak with the man personally thinking it would change our thinking about these mass breeding facilities - he too produced Mixed Breeds or so called 'Designer Dogs' -

well - the REAL story came out -

The SPCA stepped in and bought ALL his dogs - (1,100 of them) to SAVE them. It was unprecedented as the SPCA doesn't normally do this.

the reports that came out were disturbing on so many levels - this so called WONDERFUL breeder was the biggest Puppy Mill in Wisconsin. It was all over the news - so don't put much stock into posts that defend these places.

Yup. It's people like this who probably don't care one bit that shelters are full and dogs killed every single day in the thousands due to people like this who mass breed and throw dogs together calling them cute names in the name of the Almighty dollar. If I ever get another dog - it will be a shelter dog.

To go back to my comment about that off the wall statement regarding Haiti -What other cultures do to survive is totally different than someone profiting from mass breeding

We may not like or understand it - but we aren't living in one of the poorest countries in the world.

Mills don't sell out of desperation - they sell to support a lifestyle and in the case of this particular site - a greedy lifestyle. Sure it may be legal (now) - but it's FAR from moral and ethical.

Everyone has said everything that I'm thinking. This "hobby breeder" is CLEARLY in the wrong place.

The only thing I have to say is that I read on their FAQs that they breed their females EVERY CYCLE because IAMS told them to - I'm not even going to GO there. Lowlives.

I just spoke of the HUGE puppy mill bust in this thread where the SPCA came in and bought all 1,100 dogs and decided to go ahead and post the link where a certain person was defending the guy just because she made a phone call - she also was saying people were on a 'witch hunt' - different words but basically the same thing being said in this thread.

my reasoning is - THIS IS FROM Year 2005 - and while I've been here a long time - I had to laugh going back in time in this link - especially where she asked me to call this puppy mill -

After reading the thread I just linked - peoples opinions have NOT changed and now it's 2010

ya...I miss them too - I did see Breeze and she's still here

one difference is that jerk sold to Petland but basically - anyone can say anything via website or phone calls when running large scale ops.

What....are they going to go ahead and tell people - "heck yes we're a puppy mill - we love our each and every one of our hundreds (thousands) of dogs"
