I sat on their waiting list 3 months!

YES she has a lot of breeds, but look through there, she doesn't have a lot of puppies. I have been waiting for her to have another yorkie litter for 4 months!

People, get over the designer dog issue, it is not going to go away. And you make it sound like making money is a crime, I see less upset of people selling babies and children. in haiti children are given away (slaves) and sold (to ANYONE) for 100.00 and up depending on how hard up the people are it could be for a can of food. 80% of the people there make an average of $1.00 a day.

It makes me sick when people abuse and neglect animals as much as the next person. but this witch hunt has got to stop, it is hurting people who are not puppy mills, i have seen it so many times now.

See, you are the kind of person who judges and hates breeders. it is LEGAL to have that many dogs and pups.. USDA breeders are considered commercial breeders. You may not like it, but it is their RIGHT to have these animals, to breed them and to make money from them. people will never stop buying from breeders, or even pet stores.

And she tells you the answers to your "questions".. call them, the owner and her staff will answer ANY question you have and give you 100 references if you ask. They have MANY staff caring for these dogs and pups and they are well socialized.. mine sure was when I got her.

Most breeders do have kennels, they may say they don't but they do. Her kennels are very nice. You have the right to free speech but not the right to call someone a puppy mill without proof. that is infringing on the breeders right. And breeders have the right to their property, and animals are property. we own them, that is just a fact

Most of my impression doesn't come from ripoff report, but from the "breeder's" site. The answers to questions about visiting the puppies, seeing the parents, where the dogs are kept (shredded paper for bedding, great),
no potty training, doesn't mention much about any health testing, etc...
I have not heard that MOST breeders do not allow visits, in my mind reputable breeders would allow visits and I wouldn't buy from one that didn't!
For the life of me, I can't imagine why one would have to go through much or wait long for a puppy when they have well over a 100 available right now and the breeder site says they almost ALWAYS have puppies available! I would guess so with that many dogs! I guess 100+ doesn't seem like much to you, but it is by most people's standards!
I have a Yorkie-Poo mix myself that I rescued from a bad home, so I don't dislike mixed dogs, but breeding over 23 varieties of dogs seems very excessive to me!
I don't hate breeders, so don't put words in my mouth! I got Wrigley from a breeder, there are breeders on this site, that I would buy from in a heartbeat! I don't like PUPPYMILL breeders! There are a lot of things that are legal that shouldn't be, there are many laws that should be changed. So because it's legal doesn't mean it's moral or right!
It will probably be a very long time before people stop buying from pet stores, large volume places like this one, etc.., unfortunately we have a long way to go, but I have hope!
Again, most breeders that a lot of people on this site would buy from, do NOT use kennels, their dogs are their pets and live in their homes and are part of their family and that is the kind of person I would want my pet to come from!
The great thing about this country is our freedom of choice and I choose to not do business and hand money over to someone that raises dogs like livestock, I want to deal with people who care about animals and have the same ideas that I do!

You said yourself there is no real defiition for a puppy mill, SO this makes your definition inaccurate as well. I assure you it doesn't have to be filthy dogs on the brink of death to make it a mill.

You could at least TRY to look like you are not affiliated with this mill, you know? Not a mill in any sense of the word? Are you kidding? A mill produces pups just for profit, NOT FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE BREED. You think if they are producing mixed breeds they are bettering ANY breed?

I have no plans to purchase a pup from this place. I would never buy from anyone like this. I was just surfing the web on night - I like to look at pics on breeder's sites - and found this one and wanted to let people know about them. It seems they sell so many, I thought if maybe someone saw it on here then they would not purchase from them. It is too bad there are fellow YTers that think this type of place in OK.

Yup. All the FAQs were very defensive with lots of excuses. My opinion: yes it is a puppy mill no matter how you slice it....

and good for you posting about it.

You won't find too many people defending a place like this - it's rare. True dog lovers don't like to see anyone mass breeding and with good reason.

We used to have a member here that loved defending places like this - I remember a particular time she was defending a place called Puppy Haven Kennel over and over.

She insisted people were judging when they deemed it a mill - She insisted the man running it was a wonderful person - loved his dogs....they lived in clean humane conditions (all while selling to PET STORES) -

She even had the nerve to tell people to call and speak with the man personally thinking it would change our thinking about these mass breeding facilities - he too produced Mixed Breeds or so called 'Designer Dogs' -

well - the REAL story came out -

The SPCA stepped in and bought ALL his dogs - (1,100 of them) to SAVE them. It was unprecedented as the SPCA doesn't normally do this.

the reports that came out were disturbing on so many levels - this so called WONDERFUL breeder was the biggest Puppy Mill in Wisconsin. It was all over the news - so don't put much stock into posts that defend these places.

Yes they were and I bet for good reason ....the statement that the adult dogs (especially the 'mothers') don't like their picture taken made me want to barf.

That had to be the lamest thing I've read on a site selling puppies. It was so lame it's almost funny - cept I feel too sorry for those dogs they're hiding (the mothers)

I find it amazing that you have exactly nine posts and ALL are in favor of bad breeders or mills. WOW!! I have a feeling you may be in the wrong place. Elaine

puppy mill is a large-scale breeding operation that produces large numbers of puppies for profit. What the formal definition overlooks is that most puppy mills are inhumane in their treatment of breeding dogs and puppies. Many are filthy, and are run by people who have no idea about or concern for the genetic implications of breeding or about what dogs require in terms of basic health care and socialization.

this was taken from a link that mommadog1 posted.... what this says, is that MOST places are like this, just because the conditions are clean and well taken care of doest not mean that it isn't a puppy mill... for someone to be producing puppys in such a large number its hard to beleive that they are concerned with the health and well being of the puppies, jmo

I don't have anything to say other than what has already been said, but I'd like to point out the lady who is defending the mill says she is an hobby breeder on her page. Perhaps she is breeder with puppie mill?
