| Need some advice...ASAP PLease! Good Morning all..... I know it's been a while since I have been here and posted. Life is so crazy busy and I just can't find time to spend reading on here, which I miss so much. O.K.... the reason for my post. I know this is not the right place to post this, but I know it will get attention right away. So... My Brother's Dog, Sadie is in Kidney Failure. She was so sick over Thaksgiving and we were so worried. When He took her to the Vet they confirmed Kidney issues. She is an older dog 16 yrs I think. The Vet did give her an IV which stopped the throwing up and Diarreha (sp). She has lost weight and she is now on a low protein diet. Does anyone have knowledge of an at home or homeopathic treatment that my Brother can do for her? He is trying to just make her comfortable at this point. We know it is inevitable that she does not have long, but He just can't let her go right now. I'm sure most of you understand. Please post or let me know by IM. Thanks Friends. ~Kathy

| I'm sorry. I know what your brother must be going threw. We had a German Shepard who I had to PTS at age 17 due to kidney failure. We did what we could to keep him comfortable until I came home one day and he couldn't get up. We carried him to the vet's by putting him into a blanket each holding two sides and had to let him go. My terrier also had to be PTS due to the same thing at age 16yrs. When they can no longer function on their own it's the humane thing to do. It's terrible to say good bye but all I can tell you is to remember you love them so very much you don't want them to suffer in any way. When a dog can't be a dog any longer it's time to say good-bye. They wouldn't want it any other way either. Hugs to your brother, |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am sorry for your brother, it is never easy to make the decision. I had a puppy die of kidney failure (congenital) and they do suffer at the end. They get uremic poisioning and the odor from that is almost unbearable and they are very nausea's. I often wished I had taken her in a day earlier as she was very sick. I hope your brother can say good bye and know he did everything he could for her. I would think the vet could give something to help with the nausea to make her more comfortable. I feel so bad for your brother it is so hard to go through this. My prayers are with him.

| I am very sorry to hear about Sadie. It's heartbreaking to watch a loved one suffer. I know there is a vet tech member but can't remember the screen name. Maybe someone will be able to chime in with it. Again, I am so sorry

| I can completely understand. I have no advice but my thoughts and prayers are with them.
