| I have been thinking... & I need your help!! I just wanted to include my YT Family here in my thinking and pondering... These last few weeks I have actually been pondering getting another yorkie. My dad thinks I am nuts for having gotten Rocky, and that was almost 3 years ago that I did that... I have my moments where the 2 I have drive me bonkers, ( What dog mama doesn't) But I LOVE my boys dearly and honestly they are more a joy then a bother to me. Sure cleaning up there accidents at "Aunt Nina's" gets annoying and old sometimes, but over all the boys give me a lot of joy. I know my family will think I am crazy. I just don't know what to do... I live at home with my parents, so it is partialy up to them. Seeing as I share a place with them. Very much frustrating to me... I have always loved small to medium sized dogs, don't get me wrong, I love all dogs they are wonderful pets, but my feeling is the bigger they are the dopier they act. My sister has 2 labs, which in my humble little opinion are WAY clumsier then my two put together!! Maybe it is just her dogs... It is kind of hard to explane. Well anyhoo.. IF I did get another yorkie, there would be a lot of critters around when we were visiting, and we are a close family we are always visiting. So its like I am not sure what I want to do AAAHHHH lol What are your thoughts on the matter... PLEASE be totaly honest with me, I don't want sugar coating, thanks huggles

| I think that if you are unsure, maybe you should wait a bit... It might be better to wait until you have your own place and do not have to ask your parents for permission. I chose to get Couver when I moved out, and my family loves it when he visits. Before you add another furbaby to your clan make sure you are 100% positive that you can take: 1. The vet bills... 2. The mess 3. All the extra love!! Good luck on your decision!!

| I have had up to 4 yorkies at one time some that were fostered for a long time so they were mine and I had other dogs as well. I have since placed a dog or two, lost to illness another and now I am down to 2 yorkies and an older mix dog and a whippet. After spending much time on YT I have desided that I would much rather have few dogs and spoil them more than they are already. I feel bad for those that I can not take with me and I don't always feel they all get the attention they deserve and then there is the vet bills. It is wonderful to have dogs to love but it is much easier to have fewer so they can all be a part of everything that I do... camping, biking, going to a friends house, going on walks. It is less competeion for them and I think they are happier. I know my household has been much more relaxed since nature took it's course. I think it is much more rewarding. I have had it both ways and less is what I am ready for. That is my opininon. |

| I was sort of in the same boat. I also live with my parents and only have Jackson right now. They had their cockapoo but she passed away in the summer. Jackson was very lonely without her especially that first few weeks. I considered for a while getting a second and was constantly in touch with rescues and breeders on here. I visit at my dad's often and he already has 2 dogs (making 3 with Jackson over there) and he already told me I was crazy and no more dogs would be coming into his house, LOL! But anyways... after MUCH long thought and debate... I decided I'm going to just have Jackson right now. Yes, he would love a pal and I would love 2. But I'm going to wait until I'm more on my own and until that PERFECT dog comes along! I know it will be worth the wait in the end. I'm like you -- Jackson goes as many places as he can with me, to families houses and friends, etc and at the time being, it's just easier with one! As hard as that is for me!

| You should wait!!! Without knowing your age, but I assume young. You really need to consider what the next 5 years might be like for you. First of all, getting your own place, most young people rent. Renters will sometimes allow A pet not two. If you were to go ahead and get another buddy and want to move out, you might then have to decide, give up a pet or chose another place you don't like as well. Since your parents said no, If I were you I would just give the one you have a little more love and attention until you get your own place and respect your parents wishes at this time. Of course you are most likely like every other young lady and can bat your eyes and get them to say yes!!!!! By the way, didn't you say you have Two already???So they have a playmate, If this is the case I think you should wait!! Good luck on your decision. Sharon |
