♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Need suggestions--Gift for Vet!! Let me start by saying, I'm pretty poor right now. I don't want to get into the whole "why" story...let's just say this economy really sucks!! Anyway, even though money is MORE THAN tight, I really want to do something for my vet and his office. THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL!!! I don't know if you all would consider them "normal" for vets, but regardless it is truly above and beyond in my book AND for any of the vets in this entire area. Here are some reasons I love them so much and feel they deserve something extra in their stockings : 1) sometimes I call Bella's vet if it's a small issue and if he's not busy, they put him right on the phone...otherwise he ALWAYS calls me back very quickly; 2) there have been many times we have sat in the waiting room and waited for our turn for something small...a rash or something (he does walk-ins only, which I love!--I've never had to wait very long at all!)...and when it's our turn, he checks her over and then sends us out the front door and doesn't charge us anything!! (P.S. he has no idea about my financial situation, he is just truly amazing and doesn't charge for small things!); and 3) everyone that works there, including the other 2 vets, are ALL so nice!! Every trip to the vet and every phone call, and believe me there have been a lot of both (plus I had cats before Bella and used this vet too), have been nothing shy of pleasant!!! So, I need suggestions of gift ideas for Bella's vet and his staff I have thought about taking baked goods, but I'm wondering if they'll be overwhelmed with things like that?? So.....now I'm not really sure what I should do... What have you heard of people doing, or what have you done for yours?? THANKS!!

| Having worked in a office for a long time, I can tell you our favorite gift was FOOD in the form of gift certs... Is there a local Pizza place near by?? If you purchased them a gift card for pizza and soda , that is a great break for all of them !! Even a coffee and donuts shop near buy is a great idea!! Its no nice to not have to prepare lunch! Even coffee and donuts for the morning is a great thoughtful idea... it will certainly be appreciated trust me they will think about you and how nice you were while they are eating

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I take boxes of Fannie May candies every year as they are all great with my dogs and me. I like jeanm1963's idea.

Restaurant.com runs some really awesome deals on a regular basis. A good number of their card will cost you about half their value, and they run some super awesome sales. (2-3 weeks ago they had a sale where almost everything was 80% off.) Your area may vary, but I can get gift certificates for most of the local places around me and the average $25 GC runs about $10. (Do check the fine print underneath though, some aren't always a great deal with the restrictions that are set by the restaurant.) Personally, I would avoid the whole sweets thing if possible unless its gift certificatey because they might get a whole lot of that kind of thing (I know I always seem to be surrounded by sweet things over the holiday.) Maybe something else thats on the healthy side would be nice? (I hesitate to say this lol) A fruit basket? Depending on your budget one of the $30 edible arrangements might be nice... or something coffee/tea related for break time? | |

| There are a couple other threads about this with some great ideas. I have done an orchid with a gift card, a gift basket, and chocolate because Ellie's vet has gone above and beyond anything I could have ever thought a doctor would do.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Why not get a festive holiday plate and place a cheese ball surrounded by crackers on it? People generally send "sweet" stuff so I bet this or nuts would be a welcome change. If you really wanted to be creative (just thought of this...) make your own cheese "ball" but shape it like a dog bone. Wouldn't that be soooo cute? Shoot, I may even have to do that for our vet! |

| I do the same thing every year and they seem to love it. I have the the Big cookie-cutters of cats and dogs. I make them sugar, ginger, or shortbread cookies, and then decorate them with colored sugar, candies, or frosting. They come out really cute and they are inexpensive. |

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | I thought I was sold on the doughnuts and coffee and a lunch G.C....until I read a few more!! I LOVE the vet ornament idea...and the bone shaped cheese ball too!! I could TOTALLY DO THAT!!! I love that kind of stuff, so that would be fun. I suppose I could do a lunch G.C. too....the cheese ball won't be very expensive to make. Great ideas!! Thanks and keep 'em comin'!!

| I wonder if the Hallmark Gold Crown Stores might have the ornaments? That way you'd even save on shipping! |
