Why not get a festive holiday plate and place a cheese ball surrounded by crackers on it? People generally send "sweet" stuff so I bet this or nuts would be a welcome change.
If you really wanted to be creative (just thought of this...) make your own cheese "ball" but shape it like a dog bone. Wouldn't that be soooo cute?
