| Dropped baby off at vet for neuter :( I know this is stupid...but I'm soooo worried about my baby. He's getting neutered and having his teeth cleaned. He only weighed 3lb 11 oz when they weighed him ( he's almost 3yrs old), and it hit me that this little guy is going to have SURGERY! Also the Doc said he has a heart murmur, and that lots of little dogs have one...wtf? this is the first time anyone mentioned a HEART MURMUR! Has anyone else heard of this? does anyone have any advice or experience with dogs and heart murmurs? Geez, I'm soooo darn worried about my little Lupo

| I understand your worry. Delilah was just spayed on Monday and I was soooo worried. I have a thread about it here somewhere. Just remember that most of the time, everything goes fine. I'm sure he'll get through it okay and in a week or so, you'll wonder why you worried so!

| Kimbo was neutered on Tuesday. He did great. He's a tiny little guy and I was really nervous too. He's on his way to a full recovery and besides being teased by all the guys in my house (the DH and my sons are calling him "Kim" because they say he lost his "man card"). My baby is almost 7 months old and has never marked, humped, or lifted his leg to potty. Whew!!! Hope your little guy is feeling better!

neutering goes so much more smoothly than spay, your baby will be fine. and i'm not too sure about heart murmers in dogs, but it's fairly common in humans actually, and not always cause for concern. it just means that there's a little noise from the blood pumping in the chambers or veins. your vet will be able to help you by keeping an eye on it. i'm sure it will be just fine.

| Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the support! When I called this morning the girl was kind of off hand and said he was fine. I wasn't even sure if she knew who she was talking about so... I called back about 2 hours later, and the girl (different one) i talked to went and checked and said that he's doing great, he's eaten, he went outside to pee, and not to worry (god bless her). So I'm leaving work in about 15 minutes and picking up my baby!! yay!!!

| thank g*d that the vet is open 24 hrs. At about 1:00 am Lupo started panting and shaking, so I called the vet and they said that meant he was in pain and to give him 2 drops of pain meds with food. I was afraid of overdosing him, but they said it was okay. So I did, and he basically passed out. The cone was holding his head up, and i had to try to arrange him into a comforatable position. So...I stayed up all night watching him to make sure he was breathing. At about 6:30 my dh took over, and I slept for about 3 hours. When I got up he seemed much better, awake and walking around, and he wagged his tail when he saw me, and licked my hand. Tonight if he's in pain he's getting ONE DROP of pain meds! I was so tired when i got up, I went to take my own medication which i take every day, 4 pills, and I picked up my dhs rx for muscle relaxers, popped 4 in my mouth, and realized what i'd done and spit them out!!!! can u imagine 4MUSCLE RELAXERS!?!? i'm such an idiot.
