| Hair falling out! My Fiona seems to loose a lot of hair. I up her hair up and cut the bands but she still has a few small bald spots. She also seems to shed a little. She has since I got her and it seems to not be slowing down. Her hair is so thin now. I thought it was puppy hair at first but she is 7.5 months old and still shedding a little. Any suggestions? I was also wondering if anyone would share the secert to finishing off the end of ribbon bows so they don't frey. I am making her one for Thanksgiving and the method I am using doesn't work very well. Anyone care to share? As always thanks for the help!

| Penny is also 7.5 months old, and she has very thin hair on the top of her head. Her body hair is normal and full, but she tends to get thin hair behind her ears and I found out it was cause she had ear mites. I would check with the vet to see if Fiona has ear mites as well especially if she is scratching. |

| If you coat the ends with a little glue (I use craft glue, but if you have elmers in the house that would work too.) I just swear a bit on a toothpick or piece of paper and run the ends through it and remove any excess if need be. Back when I did bows a lot I always kept a glue stick with my ribbon. A little bit does the trick since it adds a slight seal to the fibers. Some swear by searing the ends - but I'm pretty afraid of fire so I've never attempted that one. |

| There is also a good video on youtube that shows you how to make the bows from A to Z.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Bald spots can indicate you are putting the hair up too tight. Joey's breeder said that you should slide a comb between band and scalp to make sure that the band isn't too close to scalp. She said that she has seen Yorkies, whose band has been so tight that a black spot develops, which means the skin is dead, so no hair will ever grown in the spot again. Thyroid problems can mean sparse coarse hair, but if the spot is circular, and where the topknot is, I would guess the band is too tight.
