| Pet Friendly in Louisville? We will be taking Sophie with us when we visit family in Louisville at Thanksgiving & Christmas. I was just curious as to what pet friendly places there are where we can take her. I know the obvious ones-Petsmart, Petco, & I know there is a Three Dog Bakery-but are there any stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. that allow pets? We are staying with them so we don't need hotels, just some pet friendly stuff to do! Thanks! |

I have a carrier like a backpack, but it is a front pack of which I carry him into the Post Office in "the Highlands" and they love him there. A lot of Post Offices don't allow them. I know your don't want to know about Post Offices. I do take him into Oxmoor and Shelbyville Mall in the carrier. Only one store doesn't allow dogs at Oxmoor and it is "Von Maur". Here's the website for Oxmoor: Oxmoor Center ? Exciting shopping, dining and entertainment in Louisville, Kentucky Also, coffee shops don't allow the dogs inside their shops and they don't wait on you outside. Any other info, please ask.

Good Dogs & Co. at 3308 Frankfort Ave is a pretty neat boutiquey place. She has a bunch of apparel and harnesses as well a small variety of other things (beds, toys, shampoo and other grooming products.) Its not a huge place, but she has some neat things and is always a neat person to talk to (and I can never resist petting their resident poodle Flynn.) You might want to call before you stop by and check the hours though as they're closed two days of the week (I think.) Amazing Grace Whole Foods (1133 Bardstown Rd) had a sign out about their "dog water fountain". I haven't gotten around there yet (I always remember I want to stop in during evening rush hour when I'm going the opposite direction!) but if you decide to walk down bardstown to see the sites it might be a nice stop to check out. I hear they have a neat selection of items. I've had some luck with some of the resurants with outside seating in the highlands, and didn't face any hostility about having Winston with me. When we do eat out though its usually during non-peak times and at the casual resturants. Air Devil's Inn is suposed to be dog friendly (I've heard second hand they have dog treats and you're "allowed" inside.) I've also heard from a few that Molly Malone's, O'Shea's, and Flannagan's are pet friendly too. So is Moe's & Moe's Southwest Grill are also pet friendly (according to the KY Humane Society.) You'll mostly be coraled the patio of course (health laws techinically don't even allow you there) but all of those should in theory be fine with you having a dog out there. Depending on who you run into, you may also hear that Louisville technically has 3 dog parks now (with small dog runs) but they aren't open to the public.

The Feeders Supply in St Matthews (off Shellbyville Rd) is quite nice too. Personally its my favorite location and they have a really nice selection of apparel at the moment and a bunch of Zack and Zoey items too.

| I don't know if Oxmoor is "pet friendly", but no one ever said a word to me except when I was in Von Maur. Everyone else says, "look, he's so cute", etc. I enjoyed coffee once at the Starbucks there inside Oxmoor and no one complained there when I was sitting. Also, I have taken my Yorkie in his carrier in Shelbyville Mall and no one complained there, but I don't know if it is "pet friendly". I know a couple employees there and they never said anything to me, and they enjoyed his visit with them. But beware of "the Summit". They don't allow any dogs anywhere on their groundss. They were extremely rude when I got kicked out of a summer outdoor concert. |

| Thanks for all this information! We are thinking about taking the girls with us to Louisville in March, so this is helpful.
