ps gen wanted to add this ps. things can be amazing we had a boston terrior back years ago and we had a friend who lived over 5 miles from us and way way off the road, well while we were away a disaster had happen our snickers just was not happy being at there home and got out of there fence, my friend was so divasted she could not even call to tell me...so she went out and put up flyers in the local stores well our dog found his way about 1 mile back in the woods at her house to the main road headed in the direction of our home. She then was on a rural but very busy with tomato trucks (this is when I lived in fl) she ended up under a bush at a tomato farmer right off this main road which now was only about a mile from home but I guess she just couldn't make it any further....the wife fell in love with her and was going to keep her unitl the guy stopped in the store and saw my girlfreinds flyer with th plea to return the dog if found, which they did just that. When I got home I called her to let her know I was home and she drove my snickers home and carried her into the house and fell crying into my arms and then told me what she had been thru...she said she didn't let snickers out again....until we got home....so keep up the faith! |
Thank you all. I went out around 7 pm and just got back to eat dinner. I still have 19 Posters left! So I will go back in a few minutes to put the rest out. Like an idiot I went in flip flops. Every big lightpole in intersections seems so easy to tape but once I park, put tape on all 4 sides. carry the poster to the lightpole is when I realize that the pole is like 8 feet past the sidewalk, with bushes...so I walk through that tape it up and add more tape. Since they are metal they stick real well. I went with a map and pinpointed the Yorkie sighting 2 miles from our house. I did what Karen said . Work from there and put flyers on big street entrances and close to back areas. I seen lots of roads that are back roads with warehouses and lots of bushes. All those intersection now have Posters. I had a few people beep their horns at me once they read the poster giving me a thumbs up. One lady was turning and saw me putting up the poster and I can hear them saying " Awww thats terrible" Praying I get "the call" soon. Gen |
Just got back. My hubby went out with me and we finished all of them. I went much further this time. It was so late and the cars out were cops :( I was freaking out hoping they would not stop us and tell us to thank God that 3 times they just drove on. I just wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year. Hug your furbabies tight tomorrow at midnight :aimeeyork Gen |

Thinking of you and Cookie still... |
Gen, are you planning on moving those posters after a few weeks, I was just thinking, what if you enlisted some of the people in your area to maintain a few of the posters each, make a contact list, log it on your map, then every couple of weeks, each of you move the poster a mile or so out from that location to cover more area. You could track it and advise them which way you would like to see them go. I know any of the YTer's would love to be part of this and it would be a good way for them to aid in your search and take some of the leg work off of you. They could report to you if the posters were getting worn and needed replaced. I just know Cookie is safe but misses his mommy, He will be so proud of the work you are doing to get him back home where he belongs, some kind person probally has him but just hasn't heard the story and if they see the poster will give you the call. Good Luck and your posters look great, a real attention getter. Sharon |
