Thank you guys again for checking things out. Tampa is a little over 3 hrs from us but anything is possible. I checked on a yorkie also this morning that was in Tampa as well but he was in a shelter there. Dont know if this could be the same one. But I spoke to the shelter and they told me this dog has severe skin problems and they dont know what else. I told them that my dog has been missing for 6weeks and anything is possible so they checked. First of all this is a much larger yorkie and no chip. So thats not him. I was thinking of moving Posters around also. I'm sure they will get lots of attention by Monday when people go back to work. Especially the warehouses in our area. I have family coming over for a New Year's dinner here. We were going out but it was cancelled. Im kind of glad anyway, I wanted to be home.I might not be online so much because I have a lot of cleaning, washing blankets and pillows for my family that's sleeping over. I will deffinately try and sneak on YT every few hours. Gen |
Gen I don't know if you use facebook or not but have you considered making a help find cookie facebook group or something? I know with past experiences facebook groups can gather the attention of a lot of people very quickly. You make one, you ask your friends to join and have them ask all their friends to join and before you know you've got tons of people in this group and are aware your situation with cookie. I know you don't have a lot of time on your hands with all the work you're doing to find your baby so if you like this idea I'd gladly get one started for you. |
1 Attachment(s) Something really, really nice happened today. It was NOT Cookie but I was sooo hoping! I saw an ad in Craigslist lastnight from someone who found a Male yorkie in port saint lucie on New Year's Eve. I was not excited but I still emailed them at 2 am! I called her today at noon and asked for a picture and described Cookie to her. The size was right on point, it was neutered like Cookie and had several missing teeth like Cookie. I asked if I could go see it and she said yes. She told me she read my ad and felt terrible. I didnt even want to take my PJ's off,I just wanted to go! I get the picture and zoom in on it and was like OMG this looks too much like Cookie but the hair was in the face. I really looked A LOT like Cookie. So I get to the house and walk in I start carrying it, looking at the tummy, I realized it was not Cookie but it actually took me about 5 minutes to realize it was not him. It had a collar and tags. I asked her if she called the number and she said yeah but it was disconnected. They were Georgia tags. I still wanted to do something. I Told her "this dog belongs to someone and guarantee they are going crazy" Can we go to the emergency vet and get it scanned and she went with her boyfriend. I wrote down the dog's tag info and while we drove to the vet hospital I dialed the number ....there was a voicemail! The guy says in the voicemail that they were on vacation from GA and were in Port Saint Lucie and they lost their Yorkie named Linus on New Year's Eve.They gave another number where they could be reached. I called but I also dialed the numbers wrong so I was getting anxious already! We get to the Vet Hospital in this pouring rain and we all get out and I tell the girl " The number you dialed was wrong and this family is looking for him!"My husband dials the number after listening to the voicemail 3 times and he leaves a message saying we found your dog. The owner calls my husband's cell and we handed the phone over to the lady that found the yorkie. It turns out that the dog must have gotten out during the party on New Year's Eve. This young couple almost hit the yorkie but got out of the way, got out of the car and picked him up. The owner is on his way right now to get the yorkie! IT was an amazing, amazing feeling. I could hear the guy's voice sounding so desperate. The dog was going to be taken to Animal Control. I told the young lady " I have been through hell so please dont take this the wrong way but we need to get the dog scanned today" Thats why I called the number again even though she said she called and it was disconnected. If I didnt call again they would have not found the owner. So another happy reunion on New year's Day. I thanked the couple so much for taking this dog in their home. Here is the only picture I have of the Yorkie named Linus. When I carried him and saw his face OMG. He has a baby doll face, short little nose and big beautiful eyes. It doesnt look like it from the picture. He weighs around 4 lbs also. Gen |
What an awesome story. Apparently you're work's not done yet Gen. I hope that you are able to find Cookie soon. |
That is awesome that you found Linus' family! How relieved they must feel... What a great story :) There are so many people that know Cookie is missing... he will have to come home soon!! :D |

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad that you called that number again. Way to go! |
Gen, you are just awesome. Reuniting a pet with his owners even though your heart is breaking. We are still thinking of you and hoping and praying for Cookie's safe return. Cyndi |
