oh sweetie. i just dealt with this to a tiny degree the day before yesterday. ((hugs))
of all things, the morning after I bought my pup, i was stupid enough to put him in the back yard, and he slipped under the gate and wandered off.

i felt soo badly, and had people praying, and i wandered the streets just whistling and calling his name... but he is a puppy, and didn't have a name or collar yet. but PTL, my dad found him just wandering around in a neighbor's yard.

i'll pray right now that your love comes back to you.

I just put a flyer on the side of each mailbox. I am going out around 6 when most folks get home and start knocking also. I know they might have seen the flyer but I NEED them to see me, my face and my anguish.
I just walked my hubby's yorkie almost 6 blocks and yelled by every house calling his name. The more I called the more I cried.... I need the phone to ring. I'm praying it rings but it hasnt yet . I have to take my hubby with me because I've been breaking down in the middle of a sentence. I know there is a chance that a hawk or something got him. Several neighbors have told me
Maybe a hawk got him?" " OMG he's so little, Im sure someone snatched him up" I am basically ignoring those comments because then I give up.

I did search and find this site findtoto.com . They call all neighbors within a certain mile radius from your house.They record a message that a yorkie is missing& details. If no one picks up they will continue automatic calling or leaving a message. It's a great idea but it's not free. They suggested me paying for 1,000 home phone calls $100. I wish I had that money because I would do it in a heartbeat but all I have right now to help me is my car and my two feet and my fingers typing and posting everywhere I can think of.

I'm sorry I haven't thanked everyone for their prayers and wishes. I read each and every one of them and it helps me to keep going.

I am so sorry. . .my heart is breaking for you. . .please take the advice of the other posters and get out there and knock on your neighbors' doors. . .someone had to see something or if someone took him then maybe it's someone local who has been eyeing him for awhile. . .make sure you keep a log of who you contacted and what they replied to your requests. . .go back to each house who did not respond to your knock or ringing of their bell. Listen at their door for barking, ask the neighborhood kids to help. . .my sister's yorkie escaped her backyard, we immediately went out in our cars. . .but all the local kids helped too!! Fifteen minutes after she escaped, I found Bella five streets over being walked by a neighbor who stated that someone found Bella wandering on the street and thought that she belonged to him because Bella looked like his dog. If that neighbor hadn't been out looking for us with Bella on the leash we never would have found her. . . She is tiny and managed to get 5 streets over within 15 minutes!!!! Expand your search. If he escaped he may have just kept running and could be quite a distance from your local neighborhood. . . I hope and pray that you find him, keep looking, I have a good feeling that someone will contact you soon to let you know that they have found your little one. . .God Bless

My eyes were just closing so I tried taking a nap...didnt work. I kept thinking of scenarios in my head of what could have happened. I went knocking door to door until I got a few blocks away to a family friend's house. She gasped when I handed her the flyer and she got teary and I couldnt finish a sentence telling her that I have not slept and my face says it all. I must have aged 20 yrs since yesterday. I am considering doing a pet amber alert.
It cost $49.95. I dont care at this point I'm borrowing it. I got the 1,000 flyers my husband got a friend to do that has a printing company. Tomorrow I will fill up my tank and drive to the main Animal Shelter thats about 20+ miles away.

Please pray folks. I'm praying, begging God to please return him home asap.
Thanksgiving is going to be terrible if he's not home with me. I force myself to try to function throughout the day but when the dark of night comes I feel like I'm drowning.

Iwill post tomorrow and may God please hear my prayers tonight.

Have you offered a reward? I know it sounds bad, but I had a friend who advertised a lost boxer once for two weeks. She advertised a reward and and BAM! she got a call that day!

I'm so upset to think about what your going through right now. I've been told all my life that I'm a very strong person and can handle stress well, but to hear about Cookie has really taken a tole on me today. Just can't get him being gone out of my mind.
Wish I were closer to help look for him. Did you check all the newspapers?
We had something happen in our city a couple of years ago and a small dog was taken from a women's car at the drug store. She had just gone in for a minute to pick up medicine and someone broke out her side window and stole her little dog. She put up reward signs all over the neighbor and did get a call from some person stating he purchased this dog from someone on the street but sounded like it was her dog. He wanted $10,000 from her if it happened to be her's. She called the police and told them what happened and they got involved. Comes to find out, this guy stole her dog and was trying to get money. Can't say enough about out Police Department, they set up a sting and caught the guy.
We're still having problems in the area of people trying to grab especially Yorkie's when your walking. I went to the City Council in our city and told them that I have experienced this three times and put them on notice, if anyone tried to take mine, that I would go down fighting and I have Cancer and I don't care. We also have a senior housing on the next street and a lot of the tenants have little dogs. I also them it was dangerous because if a senior was knocked down and hurt and their prize position was taken, this would be the most devesting experience for them to live through.
Need I say, the Chief of Police came up to me and assured me I'd have patrol when I'm walking any of my girls and also the seniors. Not that I'm not a senior...lol
I have Chemo tomorrow but will check back often for updates. Cookie is in my thoughts and prayers.
Wish I could do more to help.... this is really upsetting.
