Praying Cookie will be home soon. I live in Georgia and have a brother at St. Simons Island if there is anything we can do. |
Gen, I am praying that you find him soon. Just keep believing that he will be found, safe and sound. You are an amazing person and a wonderful momma! Lori |
I don't want this to slip away unnoticed. Still doing my best to help look. This is a good time to watch ads for adult Yorkies for sale. |
Just checking in on little man Cookie and wanting to say I continue my prayers daily for his homecoming. |
I got in contact with Karen T. the k9 detective with her search dogs. I spoke to her today around 12 and she told me she would call me back around 3 pm because she was working on a case from 12-3 today. She wants to go over the details of what happened that day. She will offer the best approach as to what I could do or tell me according to her experience what most likely happened. I dont know her prices for search dogs. I know it has to be expensive because they would have to drive down to Port Saint Lucie. The cost are traveling cost, lodge etc... I know money cant buy you health or cant buy happiness. But sometimes "money" can get many things done. This is one time I wish I was a wealthy woman and money was the last thing on my mind! My stomach is starting to act up just thinking about this. Today |
I pray that Karen is the one who can find the missing link that leads you to Cookie. sending hugs and prayers your way. |
Gen, Have you thought of contacting a physic? We used one about 25 years ago when an elderly lady wondered off, the outcome wasn't what we wanted but we at least recovered the body. I don't know of any myself at this time but perhaps someone out there could give you contacts of someone they know. Just a thought! Keeping you and Cookie in my prayers. I really felt Cookie and you would be together by now. I don't mind getting a late Christmas present, do you???? I bet not!!! Keep up the hope. Love Sharon |
Still hoping for a safe return for Cookie |
Sorry it took so long for me to post about karen's phone call! She didnt call me by 3pm she was still working. She called me around 5. We spoke for a long time. She asked me what happened that day. What I was doing and what was the "window of oppertunity" that someone could take Cookie. Well the window was about 15 min. The gates were closed when I went out there. These are reasons why she feels he was NOT stolen THis person did not care that there were 3 cars in our driveway. They knew that I could not see on that side of the house. They were calm and careful enough to open and put back the Expen gates just like I put them. They would have let all the dogs out and taken the one they wanted. She feels that Cookie saw something that interested him near the hole in the fence and went through it. Answer: (Cookie LOVES to chase lizards, stare at lizards, bark at lizards) She asked if the neighbor behind us has any holes in their gate Answer: I am positive they do. Because I see big gaps on their fence when I see their gate through the front of their house. She asked if their dogs were outside. Answer: They were not outside She asked what did I do in the first 24 hrs that he was missing. Answer: Knocked door to door, left flyers, drove around all the blocks around us,taped flyers to everyone's mailbox around here. Called the AVID chip the same day. She told me by 24 hrs the dog is usually much further than the search area that most dog owners look through. She also said that a POSTER CAMPAIGN has been the #1 way of getting dogs back. She said flyers are not seen enough and are too small. She does aerial mapping from your house and traces areas that dogs like to travel. So she does like a google earth mapping. She tells you where to put the Posters. They are 11X17 laminated and I saw samples on her website. She charges $95 per hour to do the mapping and tracing the roads that dogs most likely travel. She said this would eb 2.5 - 3hrs. The laminated poster price is not included. She told me Office max, staples ... charges about $3.19 for a laminated 11X17 poster. She recommends at least 40 of these. I toldher how far does she think Cookie could get with his luxating pattella? I told her his size and his personality. She told me that dogs that have an illness and run off because they are frightened that there symptoms are not an issue at all and their dog instincts take over. She told me not to be mistaken about Cookie , he is a terrier. She just told me of a Yorkie who escaped and was roaming for a few months! She did the aerial mapping for the yorkie owner and told her what streets to put the laminated posters. The dog had to be trapped but they got him! He was scared and kept running. They set up a trap with catfood inside of it and only then did they trap him. She was adament about doinga poster campaign. She gave me a link to her site with posters are there of missing dogs so I can get an idea of what type of poster to make. She said with flyers that are 8X11 people dont go up to the flyer and see it.And even with newspaper stories or TV , soon its "out of sight , out of mind" Right now I am up in the air as to what else to do.She told me to make the reward bigger and worry about that when they call me and confirm it is Cookie. She said she told a woman to raise her reward to $1,000 and she ended up getting a call. She stayed on the phone with her and heard the lady scream with happiness because it was her dog. She told them at that point she had not more money to spend but she wanted to barter for something for that amount. Well she is a hairdresser and ended up doing their daughter's hair and bridesmaids hairs for that reward money. Gen |

I have contacted a psychic , thanks Gen |
I pray you are able to find your baby boy soon. |
I have been monitoring this thread, and I wish there was something I could do to help. This is the only opportunity that I see, based on your most recent post. My mother works for Office Depot (comparable to Office Max, Staples, etc.) and she makes posters and does laminating. I know she gets a discount and if I give you her employee ID # then you could get some sort of percentage off. (I don't remember how much it is, but I figure every bit helps) The only problem is that I don't know if there is an Office Depot in Florida? If that is no help to you, then I just wish you the best of luck in bringing Cookie back home to you where he belongs. |
Gen, I have been checking here and there for updates. It sounds like this may be the thing for you to do. Regardless of which way you go, I still hope that Cookie comes home to you. Prayers still going up for you, Cookie and your family. |

She is able to do this from her location without coming to PSL? Are you considering doing this? |

2373 S. FEDERAL HIGHWAY STUART CENTER Store# 151 STUART, FL 34994 I dont know how they will do the discount if its not actually her in person ordering. But let me know either way. Gen |
That is great! I hope they do have one. I have always used the discount and they never questioned it. You just give the employee number and you dont even have to sign for it or anything. I guess they are just really lax about it. My mom lives in Kansas and I am in Wisconsin and I use it. But yeah, pm me. :) |

and forwards this map to me. I put the laminated 11X17 posters. A large picture is very important. She said 1/2 the poster has to be his picture, a reward clear on the poster and phone number. She says this has been the best way to get your pet back. She says k9 searches are a tool only. They can confirm that your dog was at a location, or can confirm if a caller's sighting location is true. Once that is done. You have to post the posters all over the area. She said I had to do this when the lady called about a tiny yorkie in a plaza. I put flyers but they wer not big enough. Gen |
So is that location a reasonable distance for you? I will call my mom tonight and ask her about it. If necessary, she would be able to make the posters herself, and email it to the closest store to print them. She does projects for people all of the time, and she really enjoys it. (especially if I tell her the circumstances she would do it no problem.) |

I can easily design it as one of the posters from Karen's site. Please findout for me. Thank you! Gen |
You know I've been laid off for three years, it's tough here in Michigan, but I can help pay for posters, $50 is all I have to give. Does it go to k9pi.com? (my wife did this  and said ok) She'd feel better if it went there. |
The only problem I have with the k9 site is that she charges the $95 per hour and designs the poster. Orders it from an Office Max or Staples for $3.19 ea then I go pick it up. I cant afford the 2.5 -3 hrs she is charging that is $237.50 for 2.5 hrs. Plus the cost of posters $127. I went to Staples and they were more expensive! $3.78 each and the 40 of them cost $161.02 (tax incl) Then I headed over to Office Max and that's where they charge $3.19 each=$127 plus tax=$135.89 So Karen's price would be $373.39. I cant do that. I told my husband to go ahead and call the printing company guy he knows. He was the cheapest! So we wont have to barter anything with him. We already bartered with them for most of the flyers. He is charging $2 per poster 11X17 that is $1 per print plus $1 for the laminate. I'm not going to find it cheaper than that. I can get their information and if you feel comfortable you can call them and most likely be able to make a $50 by phone instead of Pay Pal. Please let me know so he can be aware of anyone calling them about this. I need to order these by tomorrow morning and will be able to pickup by Thursday morning. I forgot the name but I know its like Graphic Solutions on Port St Lucie Blvd. I will post his name, business info and their number as soon as my husband gets home, Iwill ask him. I am going to put all my effort and time on doing this and I am going to have to stop anything that I have to do with paying to search, ads anything like that. This is starting to bring me tension in my marriage. I can tell already everytime I bring up something about what we should do, or any calls I make or how much time I spend on the computer. I can tell its bothering him. He wont tell me of course but I've been married 19 yrs... I'm getting a map of our area, doing google earth and do the pinpoint areas where the Yorkie was seen like 2 weeks ago that was 2 miles away from here. There are a lot of warehouses, in that area and I did not think of posting flyers there. So every entry down those 2 miles will have a Poster. Also going to spread out a few miles in each direction. These will be more permament and they wont fade or rip. I cant let go of this. Today I was fine again and all of a sudden when I see the poster I designed, I start crying in the car on the way to Staples & Office Max. My husband made a joke and I was just quiet. He had no idea I was crying. This is what is starting to get to him. I just want to find Cookie. I have to let go somehow and I ask God or anyone to show me how??? Letting go is not giving up , thats not what I mean but my life for the past 6+ weeks has been Cookie 24/7. Even if I clean, cook and do a few things around the house. They are always done in a rush so I can get back to looking through ads, looking at pictures online, and doing more research. This is it, I just ask that all of you keep Cookie in your prayers and pray I get that call. I dont want to think that 5+ years is all I have with him but if that is the final outcome. I have to say that those 5+ years were filled with best of the best of memories. We cuddled, played, went on rides, stroller rides, pampering, spoiling and tons of quality time and will always treasure the moments he would stare deep into my eyes and our eyes locked like we needed no words. That's how special our bond was. I'm choked up real bad now and my mom is outside waiting for me to go do groceries with her...fun I will post later Gen |
Still praying for you and Cookie. I lost my cat 2 years ago, he was the love of my life until my yorkies. I did everything I could, I even put flyers on the school buses and I went everytime someone saw a black cat. It is a very emotional time and difficult for some people to understand. Maybe God can help your husband to understand. Women are just more emotional than men. |
Gen, I pray everyday that I will log in and see a great big "COOKIES HOME!!" post from you, but until that day happens-(and I believe it will!)- have you thought of going to the groomers websites and asking for help there? Here's one: GroomerTALK and MobileGroomerTALK Community There are several groomers who live and work in your area- hope this helps :) |
Gen, Please post the info as soon as you can. I"d like to donate. Lesley. |
1 Attachment(s) We emailed them our PDF and we are picking it up tomorrow. I might order another 10 posters from them. He gave us a very good price and I cant complain $2! I still had my husband email them and confirm what he said. So it will be $80 plus tax. Reesie'sDad = Richard donated $48.25 ..it was 50 but Pay Pal charged their percentage. And Cindy Sirois donated $25. The company is : Reprographic Solution Inc 818 SW Glenview Ct, Port St Lucie, Florida (772) 340-3430 Ask for Greek: The order is under Nelson's name (my hubby) Anyone can call and confirm about our order I will wait to speak to them tomorrow and confirm 100% its $2 each. Thank God my husband talks to everyone and always takes business cards lol IF we stop for gas ,my husband starts talking to someone for 15 min... We've known them for a while and they have been very helpful. I'm going to put these posters tomorrow night. I dont want to be out during the day. There is always someone to be nosy and tell me I cant put the poster here.. I have to accept that this is the most I can do. Everyone here has helped so much and I cant ask for anything else. I want to thank each and everyone of you. Today another good thing happen. I received yet another call from a lady telling me that her female yorkie that she's had for the past 3 months is not working out and she wanted to know if I wanted her. She is 8 months and is a big yorkie. I told her I had the perfect family , the retired couple thats been waiting in Yorkie Rescue waiting list for a yorkie. They drove today like 1-2 hrs and came and got the yorkie! They fell in love with her. This is the girl that was adopted. Her name is Sophie Gen |
I just read in our local paper that a German Shepard was just reunited with his owner after missing for three years. I man saw the dog running down the street and took him in to be scanned and he found his owner. The dog was about 50 miles away. The dog still reconized his owner and she said she never gave up hope. They think the dog was found but know one ever tried to find his home and again he must have slipped out into the arms of this man who had him scanned. Never Never give up! Cookie will be reunited with his family, I pray it it soon. |
Can we donate via paypal to this company? |
Those goofs....I sent it as a GIFT, and they recorded it as a Payment. Well, it's a GIFT!! Make no mistake. |
Hey I am sorry that Office Depot ended up being so expensive.. I really wanted to help! But owell.. you found a local place that is much cheaper and you can get them up quickly, so that is really what matters. :) |
Gen, did Cookie have very thin hair on top of his head???I stopped by a pet store locally here today, and they had a Yorkie behind a cage with plexi glass, he looked like he had run for weeks, his (looking at him from the front) left ear looked to be torn, not a fresh tear, but he also looked like he had scratches down his little legs. The lady at the store said it was the owners dog, and he was wanting to reduce his breeders and he would make a good price on him. around 200-250 but he just produced a litter of puppies, and they have sold his puppies for 700 each. If this is the case why would they sell him so cheap-also was Cookie nutured?? This guy is not. She would not let me hold him or see him out of the cage. I'm 5'1 and the cage he was in, the bottom was at the top of my head, so I couldn't see him very well. I did see the top of his head and it was very thin. I know this is probally not him, but it seems there is something up with this dog. She couldn't tell me if there were papers with him, she would have to call the owner to get the facts. And the ones that was in cages lower and I could see was in filth. They had solid wood walls on each side and behind them and the plexi glass in front. The little guy barked if you came new the cage, she said he only done this while in the cage, he was just a sweetheart when he ran loose at night. He was sitting there shaking. I wish this area had someone that would monitor and do something about a business having animals in this enviroment. But we don't, anyways I looked at Cookies pictures on you site and they resemble each other alot. Anyways my point is, I know in Jonesborough TN, there are alot of people that own homes there and Fl and alot of Floridans travel to that location. We are just outside of Johnson City, TN which is part of what they call the TRI-CITIES and was just wondering if it would be good for me to get one of your posters with the current photo of cookie and send to the vets and groomers there. If you have something already made up could you email it to me at sdfurches@verizon.net. I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before, I guess seeing this poor little guy and thinking this is a possibility really opened my eyes that he could be in this area just as well as any other. Anyways not trying to get your hopes up at all, but it was just strange. I'm going back in the morning to talk to the owner and mabey he will let me get hold of him and I will take a photo, unless Cookie was nutured. Sharon |
