I read that Gator story. I cried so much reading it. I still do have a lot of hope. But what I really am doing is leaving it in Gods hands. I will continue of course, searching online, going to the shelters. But my family has suffered because of this. I have neglected my family, my husband and my home.
They understand and I am thankful they understand.
I know it will take God's hand to enter into this person's heart and return Cookie, turn him over to a shelter or something. I'm not just a furbaby mom when I say this , but Cookie is a really adorable, quiet little guy that I know if seen running loose , would have been picked up and kept. I understand that. I would be tempted to keep him if I saw one like him on the street. But I wouldnt be able to do it, I could not cause this nightmare for any pet lover.

Today I am going out with my hubby to a bonfire this evening at a friend's house. Monica is going tucked in a pink microfleece sling carrier and so is hubby's Yorkie named Angel. So we get to take our furbabies out and enjoy our evening at the same time.

As I type , Monica is asleep in between my hands that are typing this now. Something only Cookie used to do all the time. Is she a blessing in disguise? I absolutely believe that is what she is.

I'm so glad to hear that you are finding comfort in Monica. She was definitely sent into your life for that reason. Its good that you are trying to get some normality back into your life, for your sake and the sake of your family.
Hopefully someone somewhere is taking really good care of cookie, and lets hope they soon find it in their hearts to return him to you.

For those of you that can interprate dreams, maybe you could help?


For the past 2-3 days I've been having the same dream over and over. Its a short dream but it ends the same way every time. I keep asking in the dream a question that is unclear : either I ask "Where is Cookie" or I ask "Will I find him?" The question is something like that. Anyway the answer is given to me over and over " Ask here" "Ask here" then I ask Where do I ask or who do I ask?" and again the answer is " Ask here"

I did not mention it to my husband because it just didnt make any sense.
Well this morning my husband tells me " I just had the craziest dream!
he says that I was outside choking a 2 headed snake and that Cookie was inside the snake's stomach, the snake was biting me all over my hands but I would not let it go. I kept yelling " Cut its heads off and get Cookie out of theere!" My husband came running and tells me " get out of there! There is another 2 headed snake behind you! but he said I would not let the snake go no matter what.

My husband is not the type to have these types of dreams ever so he woke up freaked out about it. I told my mom today and she told me . The two headed snake is someone I know that is lieing to my face and they know about Cookie's whereabouts. The snake behind me is letting me know that I better watch my back.

I dont know what to make of it but I know its just a dream. I thought it was telling me something that I might have missed.

Google the dream. It agrees that someone is lying to you. Ask here--I would think that might be a shelter or rescue or even Humane Society that's close to you. I hope you read the second story about Shai. That's the lady I contacted about the scan logs. Her Yorkie was held by a shelter but the person working there basically stole the dog, wouldn't tell her anything. The scanned chip gave her up.

Is there someone that you know, or might have had contact with in some way before Cookie disappeared, that works at a 'shelter'? We read your account about what Lorrie told you. 'there were other dogs in cages' You might have been targeted at that point.

Here in Michigan there's a Humane Society branch that is run strictly by members of a family, no outsiders. I've heard some things about that place and their efforts to re-home pets at high cost. With this economy the way it is I suddenly don't trust shelters.

I am trying hard to think but I dont think I know anyone personally that works at any shelter. One thing about Animal control in PSL. THEY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO A WALKTRHOUGH . Its a wast of time to go in person to Animal Control. You go in there and they tell you they have no yorkies. They say they dont do walkthroughs there,only at the Humane Society.

Where is Sandy? maybe she can tell me how Animal Control works??

Sandy hasn't responded to my messages, she may have been told it's out of her jurisdiction. I wonder if Animal Planet has a good Animal Control contact that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty.

When Iwent on Friday to the humane society there was a young couple there picking up their lost dog. They were at Animal Control and they were told that their dog was taken to the humane society.

“It was a continuing change of the story,’’ Torren said. “There was nothing solid to what she was saying. If I asked her a question, she changed the answer. It was one lie after another.’’

Gen, have you called any of the microchip companies lately and asked if Cookie's chip has been scanned recently. Thats how a woman in Massachusetts found her dog...the animal control officer actually caught her dogs, scanned it and then gave it away to one of her friends. The owner found out she had the dog when the chip was scanned..but ONLY cause the microchip company told her...not the animal control officer. Good luck...i keep checking back everyday in hopes to see a post that Cookie is home!

I have called AVID chip several times. But I just realized that there are several microchip databases. I know of 4 of them so I will be calling in the morning. That is what happened in that story. The woman kept calling the correct chip company but no reports of her dog scanned there. It was when she called other companies that one of them told her that her dog was scanned and the person who scanned the dog called the wrong chip company and gave them the chip# .

So tomorrow ,,,well actually in about 8 hrs I plan to call them all up.

Creative Dreaming
 

There's a book called Creative Dreaming that describes a process by which you can get answers in your dreams. The Hopi Indians teach their children to solve problems in their waking lives through lucid dreaming--that's being aware that you're dreaming while you dream and being able to control events in your dreams.

So possibly your dream was telling you quite literally to ask where Cookie is, or what happened to Cookie, in your dreams. One of the instructions I seem to recall from that book--and I may be mixing this up with things I've read it elsewhere on dreaming--is to immerse yourself for an hour before going to sleep in the subject you want help with or want to dream about and to give yourself the assertion right before going to sleep, "I will get the answer tonight in my dream." Maybe even write this down.

Keep a pad and pencil/pen next to your bedside. As soon as you wake up, even if it's in the middle of the night, write down everything you can remember about your dreams. Do that before you do anything else, before you even get out of the bed, because dreams are elusive and the details slip away quickly.

The Hopis also teach their children that you can call on your dream friends for help if, say, for example, you're being chased by a monster. That monster represents a problem in your waking life, and you're not supposed to run from it but face it, and you can call upon someone in your dream to help you. If you defeat the monster in your dream, the Hopis say this somehow translates into solving the problem the monster represents in your waking life. It's been many years since I've read this book, and that's all I can remember right now.

Dreams are often your subconscious mind trying to work out a problem or resolve some issue. I've noticed in my own life that when I've had recurring dreams, they stop when I face, come to terms with, or understand what the dream was trying to convey.

I just googled the book Creative Dreaming: It's for sale and it's by Patricia Garfield, PhD, copyrighted 1985. I'm not affiliated with this book in any way--I just read it and found it interesting. I hope this can be helpful for you, Gen.

I forgot to mention that dreams are often metaphors. And what a snake represents to one person might not be what it represents to another. Most people fear or are repelled by snakes, but some people keep them as pets. So what does your husband think of snakes? Or two heads? What do these things make him think of?

And I just want to add that the information I've written about concerning dreams is pulled from either something I've read or from my own personal experience. I'm not an expert.

I called the microchip companies this morning.

Home Again: Was extremely helpful and said that this mistake could deffinately happen if the person scanning the dog calls the wrong chip company. So even though your pet is chipped, that chip info is only through 1 Chip company. For us its AVID. She was kind and put all my info in the system. She said if they get a call with that chip number they will have a red flag in their system and get any info from the person calling and also contact me . So this could be an issue with some dogs or cats that shelters say they have been scanned but are not registered. If they call AVID and avid says its not registered. maybe it's registered with HomeAgain. I dont know how many Shelter employees would take the time to make 5 phone calls and stay on hold to see if the number is registered with that company...

The Dogs & Cats Forever is closed Monday,Tuesday and open Wednesday 10am-4pm. So I will be there the 23rd! I made a nice letter on behalf of YT members that donated.I am so happy with the items that Iwas able to get for them. Yesterday was our Maltese 4th Birthday and I made her a cake lastnight so I have to get the furbabies dressed and sing happy birthday to Lola. I got her a bag of treats and a new hot pink metalic Lulu Pink collar. I found it at Dollar Tree for $1 ! This was overstock so they had it there :)

Lorrie called me back. She did NOT want to take any money from me. She said she still has the same feeling. She told me NOT to give up. She told me just does not have a feeling that he has passed. She still sees him in the same place and he is ok. She repeated again, dont give up.

I told her about the 2 words I keep seeing in my dreams " ASK HERE"
she told me when I go out to look for Cookie to remember those words. They might guide me. She said to thank the folks that offered to donate for another reading and she apologized for her site being down. They are working on it.

Gen now has a copy of Cookie's 'lost' flyer as a 1meg .jpeg, (and so do I). The idea is to distribute as many as we can to vets, shelters, etc. in the hope that someone has seen him. I'm really talking in the AREA of Florida, outside the state. If he was taken there's no limit to where he could be now.

What would be nice is to get as many of you, that care to, help email the flyer to yours areas' vets, etc. I don't know if it'll work but the more exposure he gets the better the chances will be. If this has already been done then forgive me and I'll shut up.

If all this isn't a breach of forum rules then PM me and we'll exchange email addresses so these can get out. I'm just trying to relieve some of the pressure from Gen and do what I can. She needs to sit back and breath for a while.

Gen!!!!! I heard from Jessica Perillo from the Dr. Phil show today. She stated they are looking into doing a show for animal owners that have missing animals. She was gathering information to take to the discussion panel that meets on Jan 5th. She isn't sure they can do a lost ad featuring Cookie, but perhaps could interview you and they could post Cookies picture during the interview or something to that effect, if the panel agrees to do a show on this. She was asking about what steps you have taken, post etc. I advised YT would be a good start for her to monitor some of your efforts. She mentioned it sound like there needs to be a nationwide alert for missing animals simalar to the Amber Alert. Dr. Phil and Robin are avid animal lovers and she feels he would be interested in helping out animal lovers. She gave no promises, but feels this would be a very worthwhile topic. It will not be a quick process, I guess it has to go through alot of channels, but I feel very hopeful. By the time it airs, you and Cookie can be featured telling the other families how you two worked to be reunited, because we are praying for the Christmas Miracle and Christmas is just a few days away. I think we all need to light a special candle for you and Cookie Christmas Eve at 8pm and say a small prayer for you two. God hears better in numbers, and he should be able to hear all of us here at YT if we can do it together at the same time, mabey this will give Cookie the inspiration to find his way home if at all possible. This will be the only gift I want this year if for you to have your baby home with you and your family. Love Sharon
