oh my! I don't know what to say. |
I thought about it for a moment.... It sounds like your reward could make the difference to this type of person. I would leave a flyer at every house in the neighborhood. If it says "no questions asked" and the reward amount is included, I think it would work. This person could always claim Cookie just showed up on his doorstep. |
Oh my gosh...I have goosebumps. Please, please be careful Gen. You shouldn't do this alone. Be sure to take you husband or someone with you. If whomever has Cookie thinks you're on to them they might try to move him. If you think you hear him watch the house. Be CAREFUL. Good Luck. |
As i was reading your last post i just felt a weight in my chest lift i think that this will lead to cookie comeing home please please go look remember if they have nothing to hide they will want to help and a little tip if you are remembering you look right if you are fabricating you look left watch thear eyes |
It's time to get the SPCA involved. If there are other animals there it may be a "pet for sale" theft ring. They need to know that Lorrie has been proven(give them the Tinker Bell information) or they will roll their eyes. It sounds like there may be other stolen pets there and time is getting short, this is Christmas and people may be looking for a dog. Look also on eBay and compare the contact information to see if there's a pattern. They may even have a way to lure the people out by posting a request for a male Yorkie, undercover so to speak. Carefully check neighbors in that area to see what kind of people live on that street. You might find someone who is 'normal' and has heard dogs bark. A door to door search is not a good idea as they may dump him. The flyers on every door is a good idea but make sure there are others posted in public view so you don't arouse suspicion that you MAY know where he is. I had goosebumps, too, reading your post for the Lorrie session. |
May depend on hand dominance Quote:
Here's Google search link for more information on it: nlp visual cues lying - Google Search And I agree that Gen should be careful. Anyone who would steal someone's pet doesn't have a normal conscience, in my opinion, and who knows what else that type of person would do? Take care, Gen. You have so many people pulling for you and Cookie. And we wait with you for the day that Cookie comes home. |

I had one other scary thought, if he has any health problems they might even be lurking out here on YT looking for information to help them. |
Reading this gave me goosebumps. I agree with the other poster, that the reward on the flyer might make them return him to you. Would your other dogs have barked if they saw a stranger approach your gate? Does it look like your fence was broken purposely where the hole is? Are there pieces of the fence on the ground? |

I so hope this information is correct and you get Cookie back. You are both in my prayers. |
Trust me I've thought that there might be a way for that person to be a lurker here. Something Lorrie said totally made me cringe because I experienced the same thing in her exact detail ,something she said and I dont want to post it here. If you are a longtime YT member you can PM me. I posted flyers already with the fact that I will pay a cash reward. I even put that maybe the person found him and does not get out much and has not seen my flyers. I do remember knocking on one house further up the streets and this person had to be a breeder. I heard lots of little barks and my heart skipped a beat because its the closest to Cookie's bark that I heard. I did look through their door because it was one of those etched glass doors. I saw at least 7 maltese different sizes and a big crate with puppies. I told my husband today and he just said " stop, stop stop because he was going to cry again" I'm pretty good at reading people and I can tell in a second what type of person they are. What about Ebay listings? You cant sell animals on ebay ..let me know what this is about so I can look into it , PM me Gen |
Gen, You may not hear from all of us daily nor see us respond to every post. Mostly because we do not know what to say. Just please know this... Cookie, you and your family are constantly in our thoughts and prayers in hopes that he will be home in your loving arms soon! (((huggs))) |
Gen Hang in there, I know you will find him. Definitely a good idea to double back around on the house visits; but take your husband with you! You may consider taking one of your other pups to... if you are near Cookie they may detect each others scent Wondering about the possibility of theft... how would your dogs react to a stranger coming into the yard? Wouldn't they all have started barking? Do they let strangers pick them up readily? Its scary to think about someone coming into your yard, and its certainly a possibility... I just can't imagine you would not have heard anything, or that they would not have been all running around, unusually excited I am thinking about you guys and Cookie every day...stay strong Susanne & Remy |
They do bark when a stranger comes but they are quiet real fast as soon as they feel there is no threat. You know after hearing them bark for the silliest things I feel that I may have not paid attention to their bark this time... I regret that. Every time Iheard a bark it was usually a lizard or paper blowing across the lawn. I am off to do some online searches. Someone called me about that craigslist ad for the $300 dog! So people are calling me and keeping an eye out. I told her thank you but someone contacted me hours ago and I confirmed it wasnt Cookie Gen |
Gen, I think you should come up with some sort of spiel to give at each house. Say something to the effect that: 1--I have reason to believe my dog is in this neighborhood 2--I think whoever has him found him thinks he is a stray and is keeping him 3--I think this person would want me to have my dog back if he/she knew how much I loved this dog. 4--I am offering a generous reward for the person who RESCUED my dog from the streets... 5--Have you my dog in your neighborhood? By saying something like this, you are giving the guilty(?) party a way out without appearing to be guilty....The person will actually FEEL GOOD about giving your dog back, even tho he may be guilty as sin. Lorrie's words haunt me. I hate to think of little Cookie confined to a cage and unable to get to his mama. |
I am only a "newbie" here... I lurk a lot but dont really post. I have been following this thread though and I just wanted to say that your dedication to Cookie is soo amazing... I keep Cookie in my prayers everyday. I just want you to know there are so many people out there keeping him in their thoughts! |
I would also mention his name a lot when you are at someone's door. He might hear you and then start barking. I would talk kind of loud like I had a hearing problem. |
ok, here's a crazy idea. Remember one of the YT members here had this very specific dream about the house that she thinks Cookie is being kept at? and the kids and the waman with blond hair, I think? I would definitely keep that in the back of my mind when walking those blocks. But another thing you can do is you can maybe google earth the street and look at the aerial view of all the houses on that street and compare it to her description of the backyard. See if you see anything that remotely resembles that description. Oh god, my heart is seriously beating like crazy, when you think Cookie is sooo close, yet still so far. Hang in there Gen. what does your husband think about all this? |
Hang in there. I have good feeling that Cookie will be back in your arms soon. Your dedication is amazing. Don't give up. We are all behind you. |
Omg Gen! I just knew that Lorrie would be of some help to you. Her words are haunting. I find it really disturbing that someone actually took him purposely. You must be so angry and upset because I know that I am! Google Earth is a fantastic idea. They now have "street view" which they've been updating daily to add more and more homes. Hopefully your area has been updated already. It is just like you are walking down peoples streets. I looked at my house and could see the neighbour outside playing hockey with his kids, and all the things in my carport. It may be helpful and is worth a try if Lorrie gave you any specific details on what the house or yard looks like. I really hope that what Lorrie told you helps in your search, and you find Cookie. (((BIG HUGS))) And of course, continued prayers for Cookie. |
i think your dedication to cookie is amazing ive never known anyone to to so dedicated to finding your dog i keep reading all your posts and i so hope cookie comes home soon but i do feel with this new info it might very well be soon that cookie comes home x |
Gen I check in daily to see if Cookie has been found. Alas not yet. I think you are getting some wonderfull advice on here. We all wish we could do more. I like the idea of the google street map view. I truly hope and pray that Cookie is safe and warm until he can be in your arms again. |
missing yorkie this is really tragic: I often dream that one of mine is missing and it's heart stopping. Was the dog in heat or going into heat? Are there other dogs in the vicinity? Do you live in the country where there might be birds or other animals around, as a 4 lb yorkie is about as big as a rabbit. I'm sorry if this sounds cruel but there is always a chance that he could have been picked up. I will keep up with this thread and have you in my heart and prayers. |
The Google Earth idea is good and it lets you get an idea of what to expect before you go cruising down there. Just so you know, it isn't real-time. Are there any security cameras in your area? Maybe I've been watching CSI too long, but that stuff gets recorded and saved for a while. The local police could help with that. No, I'm not strange LOL!!, just suggesting resources that you might not have thought of yet. |
Just checking in . . . I check in several times a day, hoping for good news. My friend knows a woman who lost her dog for a month and then got him back, so don't give up hope. My friend also said that the guy who took your dog, if he actually did, should be locked in a crate with a hungry Rottweiler. (No disrespect to Rottweilers.;)) |

No coyotes here either. I have been talking to a wildlife expert and she told me Depending where you live a hawk would pick up a small dog but what we have here in Florida, these are hawks are too small and if by any chance it did pick it up it would immediately drop it because of the weight. And the screams are unimaginable she told me that I would have heard those screams for sure. Gen |

Honestly the last thing on my mind is pressing charges. I want Cookie here and we can pickup our lives again. There are tons of things that I'm not getting done around here because my mind is on Cookie all the time. Trust me I am so hurt thinking and knowing in my heart that he is miserable where he's at. I'm not thinking of the person who took him , just getting my little guy back. Gen |

This means there would have to be a solicitation for a dog for sale, but it worked in their case. |
