I just wanted to add my belated, yet heartfelt...happy birthday wishes...to Cookie. If only my wishes would come true...Gen would have Cookie back in her arms this very moment...Oh how I wish this were true!!!

I think this is a great idea. I spoke to Gen before I went to Florida in February(she sent me Cookies flyer) we were at the Daytona 500. My friends and I had given out about 200 odd fliers at the race. We also had an "enlarged" version of Cookies flier on the back of the motorhome. I hung up the last of the flyers in the truck stops where we refuelled at until North Carolina, until I officially ran out of fliers. I hoped she would of heard from someone by now. Email me a flier to print out...I'm in Eureka, Northern California, near Oregon boarder, HUGE college town, major tourism base...I can put some at the pets shops, and boutiques, and on the bulletin boards in the tourism areas...Gen PM me I'll give you my email addy.

Wow! I sure hope he's still in Florida. We may have an answer to that in a week or two. I know that they won't let him fly without papers, and they can't get papers without seeing a vet, and a vet would be sure to scan him.....
Escape by car is something that I put in the back of my mind. I hope you're wrong, but it's good that the flyers were out there!

Unfortunately most vets do not use a microchip scan...would be nice if they did.

I am so sorry! Just today my little Penny got out of our gate. I had let her out back to play, and after 15 minutes noticed she was gone. I freaked out, and started calling her name. Our neighbor across the street said he saw a lady walking with a baby in a stroller, and she picked up a small dog that was in the street. She headed away with it. I was so scared, but I continued to drive up and down every street calling her and asking every person that was outside. It worked, because several people I talked to saw the lady. I finally got to a group of children who were out in a yard 6 blocks from my house. I stopped to ask if they had seen her. They pointed to the house across the street. A guy had her on a leash. He seemed like he was waiting to see if someone came by looking for a lost dog. My story had a happy ending, so don't give up hope. Go all over the neighborhood and talk to everyone. Someone may have seen him. I will definitely make sure my gate is secure.
