I think it is just terrible that they aren't helpful. They are after all the HUMANE society. Why won't they even get off their butt and look for you? It is ridiculous!! You would think working there they would want their animals to be reunited with their families.

This is God awful. May I suggest also contacting UPS, Fedex, DHL and USPS. Those drivers are everywhere and may site your little one.

Please don't loose hope, about a few years ago i had a huskey who got out of the gate one day, and i couldn't find him anywhere i checked the nearest spca. Well a few months later a co worker of mine said, "Did you ever find your dog?" I said, "no" she said, well i was reading the paper and found a dog on here that sounds like yours (he had a lazy ear) we'l i contacted the people and they lived about 30 min away in the next city. I rushed over and sure enough it was Cody he was soo happy to seee me. It turns out these people voulunteer at a shelter and noticed he was an older dog but a good dog, so instead of the pound putting him to sleep they decided to take him. They said he was a great dog but cried a lot so they figured he was missing his family, and thats when they placed the ad. What a miracle! So keep having faith, i know ur baby will be home soon!

I dont know. it could happen I guess. I just thought he looked so much like Cookie. he seems a little darker in color but hard to tell from pictures.

Today I went to that Humane Society which is far from me but it is the main Humane Society for the treasure coast.

I walked through the adoption area first. It's very pretty there.
But when I walked to the found area...OMG I have a strong stomach but this was beyond anything Ive seen or smelled before/ The guy didnt follow me in there, he just held the door open. I kept on gagging and gagging.
There was SOOOOO MUCH poop everywhere. In one kennel there were about 3 puppies that looked like labs and there was a HUGE pile of poop the size of a large lasagna pan! I guess there is no need for them to keep that area looking decent until they are up for adoption.

What is wrong with them???????? Just because they're not adoptable doesn't mean they don't need to be clean. They're living creatures too. That just makes me mad.

I partnered up with a woman who lost her cat about the same time I lost Cookie. She is as relentless as I am and still goes to the Humane Society here and about 30 miles away twice a week. While there she looks to see
if there are any yorkies there. I told her that I saved a picture of her cat
and if I see one that resembles her cat that I will snap a picture on mycell phone and forward it to her. This way I have two people looking in the Humane Society here. I really HATE how the employees at Humane Society dont offer much help at all. I understand 150% that you need to go in person to ID your pet. Yes I understand. But geeze if I call and they are in front of a computer, how hard is it to tell me if they have any yorkies in the system???
Yesterday the woman that went called me and told me she saw 1 larger yorkie there that she knew was not mine. But as she left she saw a male employee walking a tiny yorkie in the excersise walk area for the dogs.
She forgot tto snap a picture Well I called them right away and they kept telling me that they only have 1 yorkie there surrendered by its owner and it was 8 yrs old and larger. Ok I'm talking about the one being walked...
They switched me over to 2 people and they told me the same thing. They just told me if we dont see it in this section then it might be up for adoption and you need to come and see it. I asked again. Can you tell me if its a female male? Big , little? Nope nothing!
For this place I have to ask questions because its 30 miles from here.
I do tell them I am very far and if they could just check if they have a yorkie/male/small.

I have been there several times and believe the distance from their chair to the dogs is like 20 feet. But the answer is just " You need to come"

This makes me angry. How can the humane society workers not check if Cookie is there for you? I don't understand how they can just turn their backs and not help you. It seems so heartless to me. You have been diligently searching for Cookie for what...3 months? The least they can do is take a peek down the hall for you. I'm so sorry that they aren't being more helpful.

I mentioned before that one of this area's Humane Society branches is run by a family that won't allow outsiders (outside the family) to work there. Many people suspect they are making money on the side by selling lost dogs. I'd tell you where it is but their lawyer might be pounding on my door. The safest thing to do is to take a found dog to a rescue that you can trust, maybe one that's recommended by your vet.

The poop pile shelter sounds like a place for the Dirty Jobs guy to visit!

Darn, Gen, I like lasagna!! Now I have to wait a while before I have that again!
