I still have my little one sleep in her crate that is inside of her large exercise pen. I only let her out during the nite when she whines to potty and then back in she goes. However, the crate is in our bedroom and she can see me easily all nite long. Additionally, I left a TV on almost 24/7 in the beginning (turning the sound down some at nite) and now she can sleep through almost anything. I am thinking about sending my girlfriend the Bark Repeller from Amazon. She is now living in an apartment and her miniature Schnauzer is barking constantly with all of the noises. So much so, management has informed her about a couple of complaints. I hope you are able to find something that works. ~Denise

Anyway, i suggest really trying, not just taking one suggestion and trying it once and giving up. Training is hard, it's easier to just give up and say I don't know. Please don't give up. The last thing we all want to happen is for you to get in trouble or kicked out b/c of your doggie. I understand you can't have her on your lap 24/7 but perhaps on your lap while you are watching TV or when you are reading or something. When you have to do something, give her a bully stick. Those things are the best babysitters. Have you tried those BTW? I swear I give Uni one and I don't see her or hear her for hours.

| ![]() I just tried, I gave her a toy with a treat inside it, she seems very excited and grabbed the toy from me, the toy has her full attention! So I walk away happily but guess what, she dropped the toy from her mouth and start barking at me ![]() ![]() I tried the pennies in can too, she wasn't afraid and she loved it, she thought I'm playing with her. LOL! It's very unbelievable she barks all night, it's not whining. Some people from the pet shop suggested I should ignore her when she barks, she would stop if she knew no one would attend to her even though she barks her lung out. I tried, she bark and bark, stop for 1 minute (I counted!) and bark again, very loud and clear. She would bark until her voice became coarse and her noise dry, and she would continued barking with her coarse voice, she sound very tired, she wouldn't drink water in between. I don't think it's a good idea and it didn't work for me, I will never try it again. I think, the best solution so far is, I hug her until she becomes sleepy, and I wake her up a bit, play with her, and when she's about to sleep again, I play with her again, and repeat... (I tried this last night, I spent 5 hours doing it!) So when I put her in crate during bedtime, she would still bark but she got very sleepy and when I ignored her for a while, she fell asleep! Maybe it's not a very good idea... |
