![]() I'm so sorry for your loss, and, please forgive me for using your thread to tell people what I do to keep this from happening to Apple...She is in the living room/dining room/kitchen and entry hall, while I am at work...I found which plugs, that have electrical chords plugged into the wall, and I throw that breaker, before I leave, every single day for work...It's just a routine I do, and when I get home, I go to the breaker box, and throw the breaker back on...I wonder if it will wear it out, turning it off and on 5 days a week, but I don't care...If she does chew through a cord, it won't be hot...Bless you as you look for another little one to fill your home again...

| ![]() I am so sorry for your loss. That really is tragic. I made the same mistake as you when my boys were pups and one chewed through my laptop cord while it was plugged in. I cannot believe how lucky I was and he was that he was ok. They never chewed another cord again. Again I am so sorry for your loss. My heart really goes out to you. (((HUGS)))

![]() You ladies are wonderful! Thank you for the prayers, thoughts and hugs! Honestly, I grew up on a farm, and in my life I have seen a lot of tramatic animal injuries, and thought I was pretty hardened by my experiences. This by far was the most traumatizing, and emotional one of all. If my experience helps you all to be a bit more vigilent with your furbabies that makes me feel much better. Thank you again.

![]() First of all I am so very sorry for your devestating loss. Please accept my sincere and deep sympathies for your agony. I hope you don't blame yourself -- no matter how carefully we "puppy proof" our homes they can always find something to get into. I can assure you that eventually the pain you are feeling right now will become a dull ache and then one day you will remember your precious baby with a smile. At that moment in time, your healing will begin. ![]() ![]() I, too, thought I had puppy proofed my home a couple of years ago when I had two litters of pups (9 total) running all over my house. It seems that there was ONE electrical cord -- a new one that went to an aquarium filter that was unprotected, but was "hidden" behind a large piece of furniture. To make a long story short, one of the pups found the cord, and apparently a second pup was touching the biter cause they both were knocked out. We were very lucky, both pups recovered with no after-affects. But it was a stark reminder to me not to take anything for granted. Now I do puppy safety checks by crawling on my belly with my nose to the floor. ![]()

![]() I am so sorry for your loss. I think it would help you heal to have another one to give love to. We did the same thing a few months ago...we gave her more freedom, and I was sitting at my desk and she was at my feet and licked the outlet. Her little tongue must have just gone in right, and she yelped and flew backward. I had never seen anything like it. She was fine, but after that we watched her like a hawk. As much as we love them, sometimes accidents happen. Don't blame yourself, you loved her. Thank you for the reminder. You very well saved others from this. ![]()
