early this morning while walkin lexi before going to work around 630am,
still dark out, waiting for her to do her business, strolling down my own block, out comes 2 other dogs running like crazy to get lexi.. omg!!! i just spotted them while they were like2 feet away from her.. the owner, a neighbor was then screaming for them.. i swooped lexi up so so fast and turned my back against them, didnt care about myself at that time.. lexi was going nuts in my arms. thank god for my quick thinking and thank god for that harness, i was able to get her up to my chest area and hold her there tight as hell. i guess
10 lbs felt really light at the time.. all my strength was in that leash.
my neighbor appologized, but dam it, keep your dogs on a leash . whats wrong with people?

All I can say is thank goodness for your quick reactions and for that harness!! It is beyond fightening to think that they could have hurt you or Lexi.
As to what is wrong with people........please do not even get me started! lol

Good thing for your cat like reflex's!!! I LOVE harness's!! Thank god you had one on her!!

I have had to do the same thing with Peanut. And everytime I think "thank god for harness's"

Wow! Thank goodness for quick thinking! Although small, our babies don't realize the danger of bigger animals! Little bodies, big spirits! Thank goodness you're both ok!

and let me add, lexi isnt afraid of any dog... so here i am , my back againt them and lexi is in my arms fighting me to get to them..it takes all my
strength to hold my little witch down. she doesnt know what she can get herself into.

The same thing has happened to us a couple times. I am so nervous walking my dog. It makes me so mad when people think leash laws don't apply to them.

I had a situation this summer. A dog jumped his fence while we were walking by. I wasn't quite as fast as you & he went after Sushi. I never heard Sush cry so loud. I pulled him up with leash & harness & walked as fast as I could. The owner followed me to make sure Sushi was OK. He was limping when we got home. But was fine.

Glad to hear that you are both ok. I know what you mean I can't stand to see a dog just roaming loose. I can understand in your own back yard that is fenced in but just walking out in the open with them. UGH... and the owners of those dogs almost always say.. "Oh he/she is really gentle wouldn't hurt a flea" Yea till they see another dog that is smaller and they go crazy to get to get to it...

Glad that you are both alright.

Same thing happened to me when I was walking Yogi one day and a boxer came out of nowhere. It was a really friendly dog, but I immediately picked up Yogi and he scratched up my arms trying to get to the boxer.

Isn't it funny how instinct just takes over when it comes to protecting your pets? It's not like you have much time to think to yourself.....ok, other dog has ears flipped back, is directly staring, baring teeth, or going totally still before a strike. Danger!
When I was 8 months pregnant (many, many years ago!) I stepped in front of a charging German Shephard to protect my Golden Retriever at our local park. Of course, my dog was on lead but the GS was not. I just 'knew' that the threat was to my dog, not to me. (Luckily the GS owners caught up quickly & had the situation under control.) It was still such a frightening experience! And my dog was large enough to actually defend herself.....I can't imagine this happening to my Yorkie.
Congrats to all owners for their fast reflexes!

Thank God you are both ok! I could feel my heart racing just reading your story. I can relate to your baby not showing any fear, at just over five pounds Armani feels like every dog wants to play with her regardless of the size.
