| First off... I am so glad Lexi okay. It is very sad and scary that people think it is okay to let their animals roam. I have two stories that scared me to death in the last few weeks. The first was with my dads short hair pointer. He is a great dog and listens to my dad like no other dog I have ever seen. We went swimming at o e of the lakes. We are walking the shore line trying to pick out a picnic area. Well suddenly I hear some lady yelling (like hysterically) for her friend to pick up the dogs. They had two pitbulls off lead running around. The one was younger and super sweet but the other charged us. We stood in front of my dads dog (who was on the lead) and yelled at the dog and he got scared and the owners picked him up. About 5 minutes later they let him go again! And the next thing we hear are the people yelling for us to pick up our dog cause their dog will attack. My dads dog heard him coming and got ready to strike at the dog and my dad told him to stay and it was crazy he just stayed put at a heal and the other dog kept charging. We did the same and stood in front of him and yelled at the dog stopping him in his tracks... He hesitated them went for it again abd we did the same and finally they got him. I was so upset with these people. It is already crazy to bring a dog that has attacked people and pets ( they told us) out on leash but to let them loose is insane! We could have gotten hurt and our dog... We don't think about it at the time, but it could have ended very bad. Then Lace a few weeks ago on a trail. They already want to ban dogs from using the trail because people refuse to leash them. We were walking at the end of the trail that has a nice incline. I heard something and I just felt the need to pull Lace into my arms. A big dog came charging at us and I grabbed her leash and pulled up as I turned. The dog jumped all over me almost knocking me down the hill!!! Mean while the owners yelling out that he won't hurt us. I was so mad... I told him that is the reason they don't want dogs on the trail! Control your dog! What if I would have been a child ( many parents take kids there as young as 5 and 6). I was so upset. People don't realize their dog may not mean to hurt us or our animals but they can.

| I always keep Belle on a harness when we are outside. I don't trust any one else to keep their dogs leashed. Funny how our little ones just fly up into our arms but then want to get loose to get that big dog.. My husband is an x-cop and he bought me a spray that I carry just incase, even if I get Belle scooped up another dog may still try to jump at her or at us. The spray really works. Also, there is a dog repeller that is a small hand held unit that has that high pitched tone that only dogs can hear. I have used that to chase dogs out of our yard. They work and they are only like $10.00. I lost my mini Schnauzer last year, I can't even imagine loosing Belle, they are our babies and we protect them with everything we have. |

| I was walking my 4 doggies when an off-leash dog charged us. To this day I do not know how we got by without anyone being bitten. And this man knew his dog was mean, even to humans.

| I am so glad to hear both you and your yorkie are okay. This happened quite a few years ago to my dad while he was walking our mini schnauzer (on a leash I might add). Two large dogs attacked them, knocking down my dad and taking our mini out of his arms. My father charged the dogs and eventually got our schnauzer back, but not until they had injured him. He survived, but was never the same. People just don't understand....leash laws are for everyone. Harnesses are great! |

| i had a experience very similar but sorta funny to walk to the local library where Gatsby and i go for story time we take a back ally that is between two streets so it is backyards on both sides and a dog in every yard i swear so we go past a yard that has dogs that scare me to death and i always pick Gatsby up to walk past the dogs wear boxer mixes this day as we walk past the bigger dog puts his two front paws on the fence and just jumps right over i was terrified the dog jumps up on me and i started screaming gatsby wiggled and wiggled and i couldent keep a hold of him and he ended up on the ground he looked at the dog much bigger than his five little pounds and growled the dog layed down rolled over and showed his belly!! i couldent control myself i started to laugh the owners come out and got him and told me his name was boston(bo) and he spent the first five years of his life bullied by thear late toy poodle i was so relived and now when i walk to the library i sneak bo treats and have become good friends with his owners but when i hear stories like this i think what if bo had been mean or aggressive i most likely would have lost gatsby im glad everyone was okay

| Oh my goodness!!! I was so nervous just reading your post, Praise the Lord you both are in one piece ~whew~ I haven't walked my babies in so long because of that, big dogs scare me to death in the first place (I was badly bitten as a very little girl by my best friends dog). And to see a dog coming at my babies? Good Lord, I am a wreck just thinking about it! I have no clue as to why people don't know their babies better, I mean, if I knew my dog would run upon seeing another dog (my maltese? never.. my GiGi the terror? I'm afraid she just might the lil stink pot!), YOU BET SHE WILL BE HARNESSED AT ALL TIMES WHEN ACCESS TO THE FRONT AVAILABLE!
