wow to everyone... seriously this thread is getting a little crazy! Don't you guys noticed that pretty much what was said on page 2 is said on page5?? You guys are just repeating what you all are saying.. I think you all should give it a rest..You guys don't have to battle with eachother over this~

The weirdest thing just happened - I did a post right at 5:30 before I left work - came home and first thing on the Houston news is a 3 year old playing in her aunts backyard was just mauled....she's in critical condition.

Unfortunatly I think people have a problem with them is they can turn on people who never expect it. I think they'e a great breed in the right hands - but still - dangerous

Yes, just as I suspected.....the OP is getting what they wanted. They came on, made the 2 posts here on 9/08, asking for a fight, got everything stirred up and now are probably safely watching with a smile, maybe even behind another member name. They haven't posted anything since.

It's okay. We have the Pitt Bull debate every few months anyway. But let's not get angry with each other and delight the originator. Let's just agree that there are two sides to the subject and we are okay to disagree.

I don't think there's anything majorly wrong with this thread. I've only seen a couple comments that probably should have been kept to themselves. But a good debate isn't a bad thing every once in a while!

If you read my first reply on this thread, I AGREE 100% with what you said and I am a pit bull owner

I NEVER EVEN LET GUCCI near my bullies and DO NOT Leave my kids unattended with them.. but I am this way with ALL BIG DOGS not just this breed.

My Disagreement comes in when one singles out a breed and blames OWNER NEGLIGANCE and IRRESPONSIBLE BREEDING on that breed.

I had posted that I believe the pit bulls should all be spayed and neutered. I would not want to kill those that are living now, but I do believe these breeds that encompass the "pitt bulls" slang or otherwise, were bred without any regard for the dogs or humanity. I will pet it, be kind to it, even like it, but it will NEVER play with my dogs or be around my grandchildren unattended. I have had lots of friends and one family member that owned these dogs. I have seen them all stick up for the breed and claim they are all the gentlest dogs ever. But eventually, all but the one, have hurt someone or killed a pet and showed just how vicious it could be. It is not the dog's fault. And these were well-trained dogs with well-educated owers. Unfortunately, man bred them to be killing machines. They can only fight that off for so long.

I STILL BELIEVE YOUR STATEMENT WAS IGNORANT, to condemn an entire breed to death because of what happened with the ONE dog you were in contact with is not OK.

LOL Hadn't noticed that. Joined this month and only posts made were the two on this thread. Let's not let someone come into our 'family' and casue enemy's. Good ole' friendly debating is healthy!

My Great Grandma Krockenburger ( LoL yes I had to say the whole name ) had a siamese cat that was PsYchOoOoo! She would wait for you to walk into the house and would attack out of no where. I have found that MOST cats are very tempermental and only want attention when THEY want it and would rather not be bothered with humans. I grew up with a cat and she was very prissy but I know some cats can be very loving. I would rather have a cat than a pit ( my allergies suck so i cant have either ) that way if the cat attacks me I can send it flying across the room! I know a girl that was attacked by a pit and it bit her leg, shook her to the ground and drug her about 100 feet. She now has permanent nerve damage. I still think they are beautiful dogs though ..

The Me in Me wants to just simply say: I am 100% against any and all breed legislation. If we open the door to prejudice against any breed, we open it against ALL breeds.

Best Friends Society has some great reading on BSL (breed specific legislation) and LOTS of info about Pitbulls (they are the charity that took in Michael Vick's Pitbulls and rehabilitated them w/ lots of TLC).

I think what us that love pits want people to realize is that as much as we all love our yorkies..we love our pits as much and it hurts us to hear so many negative things about the breed we love..
