We brought Nicky home Saturday and he is doing great. He is an affectionate sweetie who somehow hasn't lost his faith in humans. I call him my zen dog because he keeps me grounded. If I have an urge to yell at the kids, I think of Nicky and about how that will scare him (they think there was domestic violence in his prior home) and I stop myself. He just wants to be held and snuggled and he's already attached to me. Sadie and Joey are doing well with him. They give him space which is good. The whole situation was so meant to be. I am a survivor of domestic violence and I volunteer at our local family shelter so adopting and giving Nicky a third chance at life (he lived in a puppy mill in Texas until he was 3) is even more poignant to me.

Which rescue did you get him from?

I am so glad everything is working out. You sound like you knew what to expect and thats half the battle. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW ADDITION!

Nicky is so adorable. Buddy now has another buddy to play with.
He's was alittle shy with us when we first met him on a walk
but he came forward to sniff Buddy and allowed me to gently pet him.
He's a lucky little boy to get a mom like Donna. All three of Donna's
babies still don't come close to Buddy's size

Thanks, Carol. He is such a love, but if I am not holding him he likes to run into his open crate and hang out in the bedroom. He won't walk into the living room by himself, but it's only been 3 days. I know he will blossom with the love and attention we will give him.

We'd love to have you!! Why wait for spring? I just did Albany and back in one day, but I was running on overdrive to get to Nicky. I can't believe how much I love him.
