| Hi! I rescued Pixie a little over 2 months ago. She was so fearful and is doing much better, but has a ways to go. Anyways, I am moving at the end of this month. Any ideas or tips to make this move less stressful on her? She was a puppy mill rescue, so it takes her lots of time to get used to things Thanks! |

| Are you moving somewhere close in proximity to where you are located now? If so I would take her to visit the new place and try to get her acquainted with it. Tell her that this is our new home. Walk her around the yard or inside. Keep assuring her that you both are going. Then once you do move, I would make sure that you have all her things there, ready and unpacked near your bed, that way she knows that she is staying too. Best of luck |

my only addition is, There's a lot of hurried activity on moving day, so once everything is moved in slow it down. As much as you want to get right to work unpacking, take some time to just sit with Pixie and let her explore her new home with you. Eat a meal, take a short walk, watch tv, play a little. And when you move from room to room be sure to talk to her. "Come on Pixie, lets go to the kitchen." "Pixie, I'm headed to the bedroom, wanna come." "Pixie run get Momma that lamp out of the living room." Your talking and being calm and unfrazzled will go a long way to helping her be calm and to get settled in.
