| Trouble with topknot... I can not find anything that will stay in Slightly's hair. His hair is slick and thin. And then too he will toss and rub until it tangles up or falls out completely. I have used rubber bands..oh no...and the cloth bands. How do you all do it? Give me a hint.... Suzy |

| I have no advice for getting them to stay in, I can put all 6 of my yorkies topknots up and within 5 minutes all but Rosey's are out. She makes herself the guilty one when she is the only one with a pony in her hair!

| To tell you the truth, I have the same problem. The only thing that has helped for me was to get very small stretchy bands made for babies or young children and lap them at least four times. The more hair I can get into it the better it stays. I got mine at Clairs but you may be able to find them at dollar stores or any department store. My other issue is that they are breaking Gracie's hair and now there is even less that will fit into her topknot. I'm almost to the point of just cutting it off. Good luck...you may need to just experiment.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hang in there another few months. Roxy is 10 mo & finally this week she is keeping in her topknot for 5-6 hours. Yea!!! Slightly could be Roxy's twin. Her hair grows painfully slow. Some of the hair on her head has been plenty long enough, just not enough of it. The newer hair has been there but very slow at getting long enough to hold anything more than a few minutes. But there is hope! Don't give up yet. : ) Now my challenge is to get her to keep her head still so I can do the topknot! She keeps trying to look up to see what I'm doing. She was better today though.

| Someone just posted the "how to get the bow in" video like just last week. I don't remember who but it was so cool. They wrapped the elastic around hemostats then stretch it open over the clump of hair you grab and release and pull out the hemostats. You can then get many more wrap arounds and the elastic in way tighter. I am having trouble finding the hemostats in a store but I am going to keep looking. Maybe who ever posted that video could bump the thread up again if they read this. also I think those thin silicone-like rubbery bands(the ones that come in black and clear and all colors- from dollar stores) those might work well

| I use the bands you can get at wal-mart they are made by goodys. (the type that won't pull hair). My problem is Jada will leave them alone and keep her topknot all day if only her little brother Bogie will leave them alone!!! They love to wrestle and play and he thinks its a game to see if he can take her bows out. I have to take her hair down when i'm at work(afraid he will pull her hair) or eat her bow!!!

| I purchased some tweezers last night at Wal-mart and they worked okay. They are tweezers that look sort of like scissors (with holes that your fingers go in). I couldn't find hemostats anywhere but eBay and I didn't want to wait!! However, eBay did have a decent selection the last time I looked...I just searched "dog bow applicator". Now the band stays in but my new problem is getting the darned ponytail (Chloe doesn't have enough fur for a topknot) to be straight...it falls to one side or to the front. -C

| Gracie Ruth's hair, in the beginning, was short and sort of thin. I used these really small metal barrets that you bend to open and close. Then moved on to the tiny scrunchies. She really didn't have enough hair to hold them in so I put one of the metal clips above the scrunchie to help hold it on. (Sorry, I can't find any pictures of that ) Finally she got enough hair to hold the scrunchie in by it's self. Oh I also used the clips to hold the short stray hairs in place until they grew long enough to reach the scrunchie.

| Fido always has a topknot, if he tryes to rub it of then i just say NO! , he understands it now that he can not rub it out He can go a whole day now without me having to fix it I use rubberbands sometimes , but i try to use these soft ones (they dont ''cut'' the fur as much) daily. (I hope you understand me, I'm Icelandic and not perfect in english)
