To tell you the truth, I have the same problem. The only thing that has helped for me was to get very small stretchy bands made for babies or young children and lap them at least four times. The more hair I can get into it the better it stays. I got mine at Clairs but you may be able to find them at dollar stores or any department store. My other issue is that they are breaking Gracie's hair and now there is even less that will fit into her topknot. I'm almost to the point of just cutting it off.
