I think as your little ones get used to the routine and when you will return- they will adjust more and more. Also, I think they sometimes feed off of our own anxiety about leaving them. I do feel less guilty now that they have each other, so I think they sense that and feel less anxious about it also.

hehehe- Baci sometimes tries to run off with and hide my shoes so I won't be able to leave though

I'm glad that Bella has a new playmate. It does seem to help for them to have each other.

Timba knows when Im getting ready to leave... he stands by my feet while Im putting makeup on in the mirror... then after Im all done and grab my purse that's when all hell breaks loose.. he tries to follow me and grab onto my ankles with his mouth to stop me from going... I hate to leave him all alone for a little while... but when I come back I get the biggest welcome of his little fur kisses and he jumps up and down and wags hil little tail so fast.... I love him soo very much.............

Oliver hates it when I am getting ready for work.. He has definitely learned my routine, and even knows as soon as I wake him up in the morning, as it's always a bit earlier than on weekends. He watches me the whole time I get ready with his big, sad eyes... We used to play in the mornings but now he won't do that, he just sulks! Breaks my heart. He isn't left alone, my mom is usually home with him, so that makes me feel better. He just hasn't bonded with the rest of the family the way he has with me - which, in the long run, is best, as he and I will be moving as soon as I get a permanent position at my current job, right now I am just contract.

Coming home is a lot of fun though.. I always look forward to my welcome home kisses and tail wags!

I just put mine up to go to the grocery store. I always leaveher plenty of water and food for while i am gone usuallly less than an hour. But I think she cries the whole time I am gone and doesnt play with her toys or eat her food. When I do get home she is so excited that we are home she will just dance and squirmout ofyour arms. We are going on a 2week cruise in Jamuary and I don't know where we will leaveher. donnaledford

Peanut does the same thing!! He knows as soon as I start to get dressed or put make up on...Then I grab my keys and he is waiting by the door!! 99.9 % of the time he gets to come with me...so it's ok
But then that 1% when I have to leave him it's sooooooo hard!!

I feel terrible when I leave my little baby, even if my roommate is home to take care of her. But then I just think about all the dogs that are left alone all the time and try to tell myself that it is good for her to have some alone time and the majority of dog owners leave their babies for a full 8 hour work day, and I feel a little better. I know exactly how you feel...and it sucks!

Maggie is a year and 1/2. We used to have to literally race to get her outside as she had excitement pee. They have a pad in their expen but it didn't matter. Now she is able to hold it and she does the same thing--takes the longest pee in history when we go out!

We actually keep his crate close to the sliding door so he knows the moment he leaves his crate he goes straight to the door, we don't even need to tell him anymore.

Isn't amazing how much control they have over us? When mine sulk, it just tears me up and of course I give in and hold them. It is so funny when they are mad at me, I could literally put my nose on theirs and they still will not give me a kiss. I usually wind up winning but they definitely let me know when they are not happy with me.

I've been lucky and have not had to leave mine overnight. I thought I was going to last year for a 3 week trip...I was already missing him (we didn't have Maggie yet). I was trying to figure out how to sneak him in my suitcase, lol. Good luck figuring out what you are going to do during your trip. You might want to think about getting her used to boarding before your trip to get her used to it just in case you decide to go that route.

Mine know that when I pick up my purse it means bye bye. I am glad that they don't grab onto my ankles, I'd never make it out the door! or I would have to sneak them into work with me.

so true, I know that I'm not the only who leaves their babies home but ohhh, it's sooo hard! Hubby has been working out of the house for the past few months, he's getting ready to open up his office so he's not going to be home either. I usually try to run home for lunch and take them out so at least I still get to see them, but then it leaving all over again. A viscious cycle, lol

They are just amazing little creatures aren't they? and they have us so wrapped around their little paws. I love it.

i'm with you, i'm gone 10 hours a day m-f...i HATE it, but at least DH is home most of the time with her and she's only alone like 3 hours a day most of the time, sometimes she has to be alone 8 hours which i hate hate hate doing to her, but he'll work a random shift the same time i do sometimes...she's got all her toys, water, ex pen her crate in there and a bed, she uses her pee pads during that time and she tears everything up and plays in her water dish... i don't think she's missing mommy too much

but yes she comes to the baby gate by the hall way every morning to say hi and good morning mom, and then everything she hears my voice down the hall while i'm talking to mike she comes running to the baby gate to see me....and now she's sitting patiently at the door when i go out to leave for work...what a good little girl she is

My is ok , until I start with the make-up, What I do is give them a treat as I go out the door. I hope they go to sleep lol !!!, Now they wait at the door and run with their treat. so I feel better bad mommy ,bad mommy Lol!!!
I leave the tv on for them , on disney channel Lol !!!!
and of cause a light on.
