  I've been lucky and have not had to leave mine overnight.  I thought I was going to last year for a 3 week trip...I was already missing him (we didn't have Maggie yet).  I was trying to figure out how to sneak him in my suitcase, lol.  Good luck figuring out what you are going to do during your trip.  You might want to think about getting her used to boarding before your trip to get her used to it just in case you decide to go that route.
