| Thinking of getting a second Yorkie ... Hello! I am seriously thinking of getting a second Yorkie - a girl this time - but am worried about how my 3-year-old boy Yorkie, Teddy, will take it. He's a wonderful boy, likes the company of other dogs, but he's been the center of attention ever since we got him, and I'm worried that another dog will change the dynamic we have with him. Any suggestions?

| I just got my second yorkie baby Friday. His name is Bentley. Roscoe loves playing with him, but I found out the hard way yesterday not to leave them alone together. I let them out to potty and Roscoe attacked him when I went in the house for a couple minutes. I think he is having some jealousy issues, but if I am around, he just plays with him. Weird.

| Second Yorkie Hi. We added another Yorkie to our family in March. I have to say, this is the best thing we could have done for our first Yorkie. Riley was our first, and very, very much the center of attention. We really debated about getting a second one, but I'm really glad we did. Bringing Bella into our home gave Riley a playmate. Don't get me wrong, he gets irritated with her, but he can escape by jumping on a bed (which she can't do), so he gets the best of both worlds, a playmate and his alone time. They definitely have their tiffs with each other, but they've never hurt each other, and for the most part, they are a pair of peas in a pod. Completely compounded my joy of this little breed. I give them both special play time at least twice a day so that get me to themselves, and then we play together. Such a blast. I highly recommend you get another. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have introduced several new yorkies to our household the past 3 years and have had no problems. They all get lots of loving and love to play and snuggle with each other.

| I just posted about this very same thing. I just got my new puppy last week, a 3 month old female maltese. Nikko is 4 years old and has always been the only furchild in the house, a real momma's boy. He is having a hard time accepting Aspen, the new puppy. She bites and chases him and he gets so annoyed with her. He spends most of the day avoiding her by jumping up on the couch. I know eventually they will learn to get along, but for now its a little hard. I think you should go for it. It may take some adjusting in the beginning but eventually everyone will be better off for it. I don't regret getting my little princess and I know eventually Nikko will learn to love her too.

| I have never had any problems introducing a new baby in our home. I often hear of yorkie owners with one getting a second and it always working out.

| Well well well... Our Basil thinks she is human and does not like pets! LOL Basil was 2 years old and I wanted to add another baby yorkie to our family (yorkies are like chips~ONLY one does not satisfy) I bought Teddy and brought him home this past Christmas. He was very playful and Basil is very spoiled, loving, gentle, and kind. She HATED him!!! He would nip at her face, feet, and ears etc. She would jump on the sofa or bed too... He eventually learned to do that as well Finally at 10 months, he has calmed down a lot! THEN I had the yorkie fever and brought Bella into the house a couple weeks ago. TT and Bella play allllllllllllll the time but she is giving him back some of those nips he so readly had handy for Basil LOL. Basil still has nothing to do with either of them! I swear she thinks she is human and wishes I would quit bringing 'pets' in this house! She doesn't like pets LOL The POSITIVE side is, TT and Bella are so into their own play world, Basil is able to get her rest and chase her balls without him stealing them
